Parenting in a long journey, and it's best to set a precedent that you and your husband get to make the calls when it comes to your kid.  If someone wants to get butthurt over a 1 year old's birthday party, that's their issue.

<description>&#60;p&#62;Gah.  The family politics involved in planning LO's first birthday (brunch) is getting to me. I'm tempted to kibosh the condo party room party and just do our parents for dinner. I'm also considering doing a &#34;sweets&#34; party drop in. Open door for a few hours and invite people to come whenever they choose to drop in. Thoughts? How would you word it on an invitation? 'Sweet table celebration' doesn't sound right. My niece had a &#34;sweets and treats&#34; party for her 13th.
