I'll be a little less than a month from my due date on my birthday this year. My husband usually plans a little weekend trip away (something in driving distance- last year we spent the weekend in London), but he's hesitant to plan anything this year since it's so close to my due date.
We'll probably just go out for a nice dinner or maybe the theatre.

My husband usually plans a dinner with family and then a big night on the town with friends for my birthday. This year, we only did the dinner with family. Next year is the big 3-0 for me so we are planning a big night!

Yes, usually we get away for my birthday on New Years. This year we will either have a newborn or are planning for his imminent arrival. Still, not a bad 30th birthday present!!!

Yes!!!! My 30th birthday was in mid October, and our grand TTC plan was to begin to TTC after my birthday. We booked my birthday weekend away to New Orleans (we live in New England, so plane tickets/hotel, the whole deal). Well…..October 1st I was late, and low and behold – 2 pink lines on the pregnancy test!

So…we still went and had a blast (except for the flight back where I was super barfy sick and some other times when I had to retreat back to the hotel), but I’ll admit I was a little bummed (or more than a little bummed) that I couldn’t have champagne on my birthday, and cocktails and have the sort of last blow-out bday we had planned, before coming home and TTC. I also really wanted to try a Sazerac in NOLA, and of course couldn’t do that. But, small beans compared to a having a healthy pregnancy.

We’re going to CA later this month to visit family and we always go to Disney, and I’m a little bummed that I won’t be able to go on some of my favorite rides. But, I am looking forward to having an excuse to eat extra corndogs and churos!!!

We would usually go out to dinner with a few of my close girlfriends. I was 12 weeks pregnant at my birthday this year. I hid my birthday on Facebook, closed off my wall and just let everyone forget about it so no one would plan anything. Luckily, I got really sick, so I couldn't do anything anyways! We ordered chinese the next day (when I could eat again) and my husband made cupcakes and put candles on them for me to blow out. :)

I was about 7 weeks pregnant on my 28th birthday. I was super sick, and still hiding the pregnancy, so we just went out for dinner, just the 2 of us, and had an early night. We had a family dinner the weekend before, when I was in my hometown for the weekend.

I'll be turning 29 and will be around 5 months pregnant-- I think we'll just have a nice dinner (and I'm going to indulge with a medium-rare bone-in ribeye drooooool) and not really do anything else. We usually have friends over or go out, but our birthday parties always involve lots of alcohol.

Its definitely not a drag that its different this year, its just like Mrsbells said- your excitement is focused elsewhere! & for a 'first time pregnant about to become mom' its all so new!

On my birthday when I was pregnant, we went to dinner and registered. :) it was my decision, we just found out the sex and I was excited!

But I know what you mean. The year before we were honeymooning and I was zip lining on a cruise ship. Now that we have a baby we'll probably just have a family dinner. Intimate birthdays can be the best ones though!

I don't have any birthday traditions, but this birthday is gonna be pretty depressing since my husband is deployed. I'll probably just hang out with a few friends. 34 weeks pregnant and husband-less kinda makes for a low-key birthday, lol.

I was preggers for my 30th bday and was still keeping it a secret so I had to pretend like I wasn't celebrating even though you normally have that big 30th bday blowout. My hubby booked this amazing chefs table in the kitchen of Daniel Boulud's restaurant and they tried to accommodate my dietary restrictions but it was still tough and I could not eat a lot of things. But my best friend flew in from SF for my bday and I was able to tell her my news in person so it still rocked.

Happy Birthday!

I turned 30 when I was 35 weeks pregnant, and it was definitely not the norm! If I had not been pregnant, we were going to spend the weekend in Vegas, drinking and lying by the pool. Instead, we took a quiet retreat up to the mountains.

I plan to make up for that on my 31st bday! :)

I wouldn't be afraid to go to Disneyland, true there are some rides you can't go on but plenty that you can. I took my daughter to Disney World when I was 6 months pregnant with my son. I just drank plenty of water, rested when I was tired and oh definitely snuck in a couple of prenatal massages during the week long trip. The rides worked out well because anything my daughter wanted to ride (18 months) I could totally do.

I don't have any birthday traditions except dinner with my girlfriends but that was still doable being pregnant. I do find it hard to spend money on myself. I rather shop for my kids =)

I haven't been pregnant over my birthday before, but I turned 21 2 months after DS was born. My 21st wasn't quite like others! I went to work, picked DS up from daycare, went home and got ready, went to Applebees with my parents and a couple friends. I was living with my parents at that time, so they took DS home and I went out for a couple hours. I was in bed by 11 though, and got up for feedings!

For the past 5 years my husband and I would head out to Disneyland on my birthday so I would always take the day off at work.
This year I am pregnant. My pregnancy has greatly changed my usual birthday traditions

1. I am at work
2. No Disneyland - at 22 weeks pregnant, I wouldn't last and would be too afraid to go on the rides.
3. Ive received a few target gift cards from my bosses and cash and instead of planning what to buy for myself I am thinking of buying baby things!
4. We would usually get together with our friends at our favorite bar during the weekend to celebrate - this year we are just having an intimate dinner (my husband and I no friends).

Did pregnancy change your birthday traditions?
