@Torchwood: I'm at least in the G or H range and it doesn't make them look ridiculous! It has an adorable keyhole back, too, that isn't shown

Rent the Runway is awesome- highly recommend. They have a lot of bump-friendly dresses- I think you can actually search for them on the site. Both of the dresses I've gotten were Badgley Mischka and they could work for black tie optional.

Following, because we have DH's company trip when I'm around 30 weeks, and there's always a formal night. I do second that you don't need to limit yourself to maternity dresses. I have one that I wore last time early on that still fits now at 19 weeks. It's just stretchy (and thick, so the fabric doesn't look too see through or anything where it's stretched).

@blackbird: I love that, but I think my boobs would make me look bad in it. Jealous!

@Meowkers: good point. I just want to make sure that whatever bump I'm sporting looks good, not like I gained weird weight, you know? PS you look great!!! Definitely would not have guessed you were 7 months here!

I had a bunch of formal events while I was pregnant and I wore the same LBD to all of them. The dress was actually not a maternity dress but it was flowy enough to fit my bump and then I tied it with a sash over the bump and dressed it up with fancy shoes and jewelry. My advice is to not limit yourself to the maternity stores/sites but to look for something in regular stores in a generous cut.

(I'm 7 months pregnant in these photos.)

Good, pertinent question for me too!! I have a black tie wedding when I will be about 23 weeks, I'm not sure what size I will be. I was thinking of getting a dress at ASOS

Good question. We have a wedding that is black tie in September. I don't think my Dr will okay me to travel but I can hope. :) Though, I'll be 30 weeks and I'm not looking forward to flying. Maybe I'll skip it anyway, but good question.

@Mrs. J: Seraphine and Tiffany Rose have cute stuff, but it is a little pricey. I just got a Seraphine dress to wear as a bridesmaid in a wedding. I seriously ordered about 14 dresses online and returned them all until I found the Seraphine.

The lesson I can pass on to you is: Order same pre-preg size or maybe even a size down since you are petite. I've already gained quite a bit of weight and feel huge and fat and kept ordering a size up and also maternity--and then the dresses were gigantic. So don't do that, haha.

Try Mine for Nine. It's like Rent the Runway for maternity clothes. You can rent for 2-4 weeks.

Asos is good for affordable, fashionable options.

Seraphine has nicer maternity evening gowns, but are $$.

I'm browsing right now for a floor length gown to wear to my brother's wedding in May...!

Fashion gurus— I have a work event (school fundraiser gala honoring our principal)next month that is black tie optional (it ranges from floor length to cocktail. Most guys wear suits, some tuxes)and a wedding the following weekend. I will be 24, almost 25 weeks pregnant at that point.

What would you recommend I wear? I'd love to see some inspiration. I'd like to wear the same thing to both events.
