It took 5 hours to process and it had to be completely bleached which really took a toll on the health on my hair. It was so dry after! It also cost a pretty penny. $350 vs my normal $180. Make sure you really want to do it. Also depending on your natural hair color you might need more maintenance because your roots might show sooner than with black. I went black to red, but I pretty much just had to deal and wait for the black to grow out and cut it off. They'll have to strip the black out of your hair (which will turn it an orangish color) in order to put color on. My hair was already fried from flat ironing so I opted to just grow the black out :-\ It's been 2 years and the black is finally gone (my hair grows very slowly). Interestingly enough, the first pic you posted is my inspiration pic I'm giving to my stylist in November when I get my hair dyed!! It took 6 hours to process my hair to get it to a place where we could get it to a nice coppery red. It was such a pain in the ass and I felt like it faded and never stayed rich unless it was freshly done. It might have been the coppery colour I didn't like. A few months ago I tried to get it dyed the color as seen in the first pic. It did not work. It only had a few reddish highlights when I was in the sun. I went to a salon that I don't normally go to because my husband had given me a gift card. </p> <p>On Sat. I'm going back to my normal salon to see if they can do it. Is it possible though? Will my hair fall out? lol I want it like a burgandy-ish red, like the pics below. I realize the first pic isn't as burgandy-ish as the other.</p> <p>The black I have isn't a super inky black. I've attached a recent pic to show what it is now. ETA, after looking at this pic of myself....I have no idea what color hair I have now. :meh: It looks a lot lighter/browner than what I thought. </p> <p>Anywho, any experts or anyone who has done this before?</p> <p>ETA again to add, I added a pic at the very bottom of the color it was before I started messing with it again.
