This is ridiculous!!!! The blacklist is FOREVER. The first guy told me there is nothing I can do. When the local customer service group called me back, the guy said differently. He works with the lady I spoke with this morning and he said the only way to get it lifted is to reimburse UPS for the package cost, which they have already paid the shipper. And of course, the ONLY person who can do this is the rude woman I spoke with this morning and she isn't even back in until Monday. But she can tell me where to send my check. I've already had to have packages directed to the UPS holding center today. Part of me wonders if it's better to say I found the package, sorry, Oye. She was really unpleasant to deal with. </p> <p>I expect this with the USPS but NOT the UPS! There are two streets in town with similar names and my parents live on the quieter street. Our UPS packages constantly were delivered to the other address. We would have to go to the other house to get our things but some were "lost" like a digital camera, Christmas cheeses, a whole order from a college store, etc. UPS is a pain to deal with and they tried to require the signature from us too. Just keep calling until you speak to someone who will listen.</p> <p>ETA - the best part was that UPS would RELABEL our packages with the incorrect address sometimes too. They would then blame their computer system...uh, fix the system? If they can get in (like if anyone else is home and opens the front door) they will leave it in the lobby. I just have things delivered to work though, which means I carry stuff home on public transportation, but at least I never have to go to the horrible UPS facility, with terrible hours and in a seriously inconvenient location. </p> <p>I've heard of places that will serve as a physical address for you but basically are like PO boxes, and there is a UPS store like that a few blocks from me. Maybe that's an option? Or can you have things delivered to your SO's workplace? We can't have most packages delivered without a signature in my neighborhood :( sometimes they'll let you sign a release or on the ups iPhone app there is a delivery release you can authorize. It won't work with all packages though. You can also have them held at a ups facility for pick up or change the delivery date if you know you'll be home. Our packages went missing regularly though, even within our building- someone took one the other day, tore it open, decided they didn't want it and threw it back in the hallway. My neighbors suck :/ </p>
