It was blazingly bright in there all summer long so we doubled up on the blackout shades + blackout film. Once it started to get darker and cloudier in the fall, we took down the blackout shades and let a bit more light in. These days now that LO has started daycare, we're trying to let even more light in so she gets used to napping in a bright room. My lo wants the light on now but we still black out her shades. I do think it helps him sleep, but I wonder about if it would help to have a little bit of light so that he can play with his lovey or whatever if he gets up? I also read that really dark rooms are more helpful when they're younger?<br /> So, if you had blackout shades for your LO when they were really young, did you ease up on it as they got older? I haven't gotten him a nightlight yet but I guess that's an option too... </p>
