It is totally breathable even though it is 4 layers. I'm not worried about it being breathable as I have confidence that she would move it off her face if she couldn't breathe, but my worry is her getting tangled up in it and accidentally strangling herself. I think it would be fine. I never worried about them suffocating, but they aren't really old enough to connect to pull it back over themselves if cold.</p> <p>Alternative might be one of the sleep sacks with holes for their feet? At night we use fleece jammies, so he doesn't need anything else. She kicks and stretches which tugs on her shoulders and makes her uncomfortable. We draped a blanket over her for her nap the other day and she slept longer than usual, she did the same today too. </p> <p>Is it okay to have a blanket on a 12 month old during the night? I should probably ask the ped but wanted to see what you guys think. </p>
