when it gets cold, we're going to go with fleece pj's and if necessary, a sleepsack over that.

We started using the AA dream blanket around 10 months. It is very thick and I never worried about it getting tangled because it can't really knot itself up like the AA swaddles can. It is also still highly breathable if you wad it up in front of your face.

I am hesitant to use a blanket, even with my 16 month old, because I have this fear of her getting tangled up in the blanket and strangling herself. I don't think 10 months is too old for a sleep sack but if he doesn't like it, I'd just double up on layers or turn the heat up in his room if necessary. Fleece pajamas are always good for keeping warm...

We've been using a blanket since C was that age. I will say, she would always kick it off and cuddle it rather than sleep under it. She's just now sleeping under the blanket at 18 months.

If you don't think the footed pj's are warm enough you could put a onesie underneath.

DD is 10 months and we use a sleep sack. Whenever I put a blanket over her she kicks it off.

LO is 15 months and we use a blanket and have since about 13 months. She ends up kicking it off anyway though, so we dress her in fleece jammies now that it's getting colder.

I don't think a blanket would work for M because she moves all over the place in the crib (she's 12 months). She does use a sleep sack, which we love, but I second the footie PJs idea for cold nights.

We asked our ped this at LO's 15 month appointment and she recommended not using one as LO is still mobile in her bed and rolls around a lot. My LO never took to sleep sacks either so it would be nice if she could use a blanket but we've resorted to dressing her in footed PJs when it's cold outside.

What are opinions on blankets? When is an ok age to start?
We have been living in a hot climate since LO was born, but recently moved and we've been going through a cold spell.
He's never worn a sleep sack or anything, and not sure that I should start that at 10m. Plus he's super tall.

Last night I put an A&A blanket over him, and I've also used a crotcheted blanket from my grandma.
Is it ok to use a "real" blanket?

FI wanted to use a fleece blanket tonight and I told him no since it's not breathable....but I agree he needs "something".

I asked for the A&A dream blanket for his birthday. Is that a good choice?

Any suggestions? Thoughts?
