So sorry to hear this. I had the same, no bleeding for 4 days then cramps/bleeding for a day then back to nothing. Recovery was surprisingly ok physically.

Thank you so much for all your responses ladies! I've had a loss before and a CP, but I miscarried those naturally. So I bled for about a week and then stopped both times.

This was strange for me, cause they kept telling me I would bleed for a week or two, and I was surprised when I had no bleeding afterwards.

And, of course, I didn't do much the days following the procedure. But Saturday we went tailgating at the UofM/MSU game and it involved A LOT of walking. So I wasn't too surprised when I bled yesterday. But I kind of freaked out when I started bleeding again today.

It sucks, but I feel a lot better knowing that this is normal. Thanks ladies.

So sorry for your loss, but like PP, I too bled very little if at all the first day or two following the procedure. Then I bled more the days after. If I walked a lot, it caused more bleeding also.

Also, make sure you're hydrated. I thought I stopped spotting one day, but I think I was just really dehydrated (it was my first day back to work and I preferred to sit in my office thirsty than risk running into people at the water cooler). Once I got home and started drinking water again I started spotting again.

That's exactly what happened to me...day 7 was crazy bleeding after minimal bleeding. OB on call at my practice said that as your hormone levels drop there's a certain point where it just all starts shedding at once, as long as you are not passing out or soaking multiple pads an hour it is OK.

Thinking of you, and sorry again for your loss.

After my D&C in August I had very minimal bleeding for 2-3 days then stopped. Then on day 7 it all let loose. Tons of severe cramping, tons of bright red bleeding, tons of clots. That lasted 2 days. Then was back to nothing.

I'm sorry you had to have a D&C.

I was similar after mine. I barely bled right after, but it picked up after a few days.

I think it had to do with two things. The procedure itself (I had a suction D&C, so they'd cleaned things out pretty well. I was bleeding prior to the procedure and that's why I needed it. I retained tissue).

Also, I wasn't very active the days right after the procedure. you tend to bleed more when you're more active, so if you're up and moving around more it could get heavier. But don't let that deter you from doing anything. It's better to get the gunk out.

I also had worse pain a few days after the procedure (I think it was about a week out). I suddenly had intense TOM like pain (but a couple of advil helped).

I've miscarried before but I had my first D&C last Tuesday. I was told I might bleed off and on for a few weeks, but I didn't bleed at all following the procedure. But yesterday and today I've had a significant amount of dark brownish-reddish blood. Is it normal to not bleed for five days following a D&C and then to start bleeding??
