I just thought I would send another update. The nurse called me this morning and said she is not concerned. She told me its normal and to call back if it continues.

Thanks again everyone!

@periwinklebee: @MamaBear87: thank you so much for the reassurance. I do feel better about everything. I think I just must be super sensitive.

It has stopped I think. There is a bit of brown but it's probably just from before. There was No cramping whatsoever today so that's a good sign.

I am going to try to stop worrying about it. Thank you everyone for making me feel better.

@Umbreon: p.s. Maybe tmi, but I had an insanely sensitive cervix during pregnancy - it bled a lot anytime the doctor needed to check something up there. So it can be completely normal!

@Umbreon: i would tell your parents. To me I want everyone to share in the joy. But that said I would share with them if something happened anyway

I had quite a bit of bleeding around five weeks - at the beginning of a holiday weekend - and did call the RE's after hours line. What they told me, which I think is standard, was to come in for an ultrasound when the office re-opened. They only recommended the ER if I had significant pain. The reason they had me come in for an ultrasound was to rule out an ectopic, which is unlikely with normal rising hcg, or an SCH (which I actually had, but like I said, quite a lot more blood than what you describe). I would probably call just to cover bases, though I agree with others that it sounds most likely like it is just a sensitive cervix. Sorry you are having this extra stress, bleeding during pregnancy is the worst  Thinking of you

@pachamama: @MamaBear87: thank you. Still no cramps which is good. I still have a bit of pink when I wipe but its not red like before. Maybe its just "leftover" blood. Good to know that it could be normal. My gut is telling me things are okay. But it's still scary.

Would you all suggest we hold off on telling our parents tomorrow?

I had a decent amount of bleeding after sex when I was about 10 weeks with my lo. It was a weekday and the nurse said it was fine. As long as it is stopping and you have no cramping it was likely from the insertion. But always call if you want to. My ob would rather I call abs it be nothing than not call and worry

I know the cervix gets really sensitive in early (and throughout?) pregnancy. The fact it happened during finger insertion, stopped, and you're not cramping would make me feel a lot better! (I personally don't have sex or get intimate during early pregnancy bc it makes me too nervous, contracting uterus and getting germs up in there freaks me out!)
I would give it a few hours and if there's more blood or any cramping, call the emergency line.

@bhbee: I am feeling calmer now. I feel like no cramping is a good sign, right? Since its Saturday and the clinic is not open and neither are the blood labs, they probably would make me wait until Monday anyway. I think the nurses check the messages on weekends so maybe they would call if it were a real emergency. I just dont want to make a big deal out of it if it is nothing.

We were going to tell our parents tomorrow and now I dont know if we should.

I think bleeding can always be nothing, but it’s also hard to know. You’re seeing an RE right? I think they would be more likely to bring you in if you wanted or at least have a plan. If you need peace of mind call! Monday is a long wait if you’re nervous. Big hugs and I hope it’s nothing

My husband and I were getting intimate and he was using his fingers on me. Then we noticed a lot of blood. I did not continue to bleed, it has stopped now. There was probably the size of a quarter in my underwear after I made it to the washroom and another quarter or more as I wiped. I dont know if I was bleeding before or not. I didn't notice it feeling wet or anything.

I called the clinic and left a message pn the nurses line but I realized after they also have an emergency line. Do you all think I should call?

I have no cramping whatsoever. I'm wondering if something got irritated and that's all. It was bright red, but no clots or anything.

Edit: I'm about 5 weeks and 3 days.
