@macintosh: I'm so sorry. I was extremely ill with both, all 9 months, on Zofran and had to get an IV because I was so dehydrated, and mine was also worse at night. I ended up not able to take a prenatal because it would make me vomit up everything, and a little food is better in your system than nothing at all. Zofran helps with the actual vomiting most of the time, but not the horrendous, constant nausea. Some things that helped a little for me were: chewing spearmint gum ONLY (other flavors were not ok for me), cold things like slurpees and Popsicles would settle my stomach a little for a few minutes. It's apparently common with HG (hyperemesis gravidarum- what I had), to crave coke or Pepsi, and the nurse told me that if that was what I could keep down, I had a free pass to drink it all day long. I didn't- but I had one a day, or a coke slurpee. I could stomach super cold red Gatorade. Water was a no-go and caused vomiting, but adding a splash of lemonade or cranberry juice worked. Try and stay hydrated as hard as that is, because dehydration can make you feel worse. I promise, you'll get through it. It seems like a long road, but the day will come when you're in the hospital, cuddling your sweet baby, and chowing down on the entire hospital food menu. Hang in there

@Iced Tea: Thanks for asking. I'm in my 12th week now but unfortunately things are not really any better. During my 10th week things seemed to get even worse so I ended up on Zofran. It helps, but I still feel really sick almost every night between dinner and bedtime. I'm really hoping this lets up soon.

I had horrible all-day nausea until almost 14 weeks. It's not gone quite yet, but it's been steadily getting better since then (I'm almost 16 weeks). I mostly feel sick at night now. Hoping it will be gone completely by 18!

For what it's worth, I didn't think the unisom/b6 combo I took nightly was helping since I was still so sick, so I stopped taking it. BAD IDEA. I felt much much much worse the next day. I'm still taking it now.

Right now I'm about 11w and it seems to have been better the last couple days but I've thrown up a lot more than last time.

I had to take the max dose (that's 2 before bed, 1 first thing in the morning, 1 in the afternoon) for it to control my nausea. I worked up to it, adding a pill at a time, and it did make me drowsy at first, but it was worth it to get a handle on the unending nausea. I found the drowsiness improved as I got used to the meds.

My midwife said it will be slightly less effective if your stomach isn't empty but still worth taking. So I never concerned myself about having an empty stomach. That would have been too hard.

Numerous times I felt so much better that I tried reducing my dose, usually to have bad nausea come roaring back. My nausea actually started easing up at 14 weeks. And improved enough to reduce meds by 18 weeks. I'm now 21 weeks and still take it at bedtime. I am getting mild nausea in the evenings (when the meds wear off?), but it is manageable.

I'm so sorry you are still suffering. I know how terrible it is. I hope you can find a solution that gets you through. Once I did, I finally started to enjoy my pregnancy.

With my first pregnancy, I had nausea from 6 weeks until 14-15 weeks. With this one, I've been nauseous since BFP. Today's 6 weeks with this pregnancy and the nausea's been bad this morning. This munchkin doesn't like donuts. Whenever I try them as a carb to call my stomach, I end up feeling sicker than before.

@macintosh: I had 24/7 nause from week 6 to week 22. I was on Zofran from weeks 8-22, but after week 17 I was able to cut down on the amount of Zofran I was taking because I started to slowly improve.

Like, I still felt sick all the time but slightly less sick every week until the end of week 22 when I started feeling normal again. I was SO HAPPY it went away because I was starting to think I would be sick until I deliver.
