I blog anonymously when it comes to TTC stuff - I need an outlet, but can't share really personal details IRL. There are definitely times when I wish I could just say "Go read my blog" to people who demand to know when we are having kids, but I can't. Very few followers, however, a fantastic outlet.

I blog anonymously too! I haven't told anyone I know IRL about my blog, but its a great outlet for me to get everything off my chest since we aren't sharing that we're TTC. BUT, I can share here and I love that!

My blog is pretty anonymous. I've given the address to only 2 people IRL and it doesn't have any contact info or personal info. I do have about 8 wedding photos on there, and one time I linked it to my facebook. It is linked through here though. I don't use names but am pretty generous with info about our personal lives, like TTC and stuff.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, Mrs. Green Grass! :)

My husband is very private and I'm more happy to share my experiences. So my TTC with unexplained infertility blog is anonymous. I found that after my miscarriage almost a year ago and our struggle to get pregnant I needed a writing outlet for myself.

I had a very public blog with a pretty good following though not commenters - and I couldn't share there. So, I started to blog anonymously and I actually get more hits on that blog now than my public blog. It could be that I'm more open on my anonymous blog - pouring out my true, raw emotions - than on my public blog so it's more heartfelt and relatable...who knows.

Now that I'm pregnant (fingers crossed that it sticks), I'm considering making my anonymous blog public when I'm ready to talk about my PG and shutting down my other one...

Good luck with blogging!! I hope you get as much out of it as I do!

I tried really hard to stay anonymous but I found that without sharing SOME details, it's really hard to blog. So I don't use my, the hubs' or my LO's name on my blog and created an entirely different email address to attach it to but because I have photos on it, it's not completely anonymous.

I have an "anonymous" blog, but not about my personal life but about wedding related stuff. I was thinking about applying to be a blogger here but I'm such a private person and so is my husband, so it would never work.

I think you can share it with those people online who know you as just your online persona. I know the feeling about being an over-sharer and having a VERY private husband. I have to keep his name anonymous (thus where Hops came from) and I ask his permission before I post anything about him. I wrote about his medical issues recently and definitely made sure he was OK with me writing that before I posted it. I learned it is all about making sure he is comfortable with what I'm saying before I say anything.

Same goes for Facebook - he has a page b/c I started it but doesn't want anyone to be able to find him or link him to photos. I'm learning that that's just him and how to deal with it when I want to share stuff.

ETA: I don't share my blog with IRL friends and family. They have to hunt it down to find it (it is hooked to my Google account. I'm considering creating another blog once I have the baby to keep family and friends up to date with baby going-ons and then they don't have to read other stuff they don't care about.

so often i wish i could blog anonymously! i can't share anything on my blog because so many people read it. the downside of an anonymous blog is that you have much less readers though so i guess you can't have it both ways. :)

Does anyone else have a virtually anonymous blog? Mine is connected to my user name here and on weddingbee, Mrs Green Grass, but I have been extremely careful not to tie anything to me in real life. I do this because DH is a very private person (I'm an over-sharer : )).

What's weird is that I can't share it with anybody I know. I can't be like, hey I just learned how to create rounded borders in html! I love my online community, but it's different than IRL friends and family.

How do you other anonymous bloggers deal?
