Thanks everyone!!

I freaked when I first saw it... So glad to know its normal, I'm not bleeding excessively either. I am still taking the hospital Motrin, but I feel like its too much - may switch to Tylenol.

@mrskc: good to know!
I started doing the sitz baths yesterday! So nice.

@mrsmenow: yeah, I would say I have been more active lately.

I had some alarming ones this time around too!!! Totally thought it was abnormal (and lingering pain and bleeding, and felt like my uterus was falling out of me!) but at my 6 week check my OB said everything was fine! (my bladder was really low though! ew!!!) 3 months PP now and I'm pretty much back to normal. If your'e concerned though, call your OB and go in if you can! better safe than sorry.

@sorrycharlie: 4 weeks and barely off ibuprofen! I have the same tear and I'm 2 weeks pp and hoping it lets up soon. I definitely realized I can't overdue it.

@hellobeeboston: sitz baths have been helping me. I soak in the tub for 15-20 minutes before I take a shower. Also take the ibuprofen. It helps a lot with the soreness.

I had the same tear, and I'm just now not needing ibuprofen at 4wks pp. definitely don't overdo it! Don't sit or stand for too long, switch it up. Don't attempt to exercise (walk) like I did. I think if I'd taken it easier, I'd have recovered quicker.

It's normal. Small clots are ok and my bleeding would be heavier and lighter at times. I also had a 2nd degree tear and noticed the soreness increased a few days postpartum. I'm 2 weeks pp and still feeling soreness especially if I stand or walk too much.

I would say normal too. Were you more active yesterday before you layed down? My bleeding would always get worse if I over did it and then I would have more clots too.

Totally normal. I had an episiotomy and the soreness is just from the stitches and swelling going down.

It's normal. I had huge blood clots for about a week postpartum. Like you said as long as its not the size of a golf ball it should be fine. Be careful with the sitting, maybe sit on a pillow? I had a second degree tear too and was extremely sore from sitting.

I should note - I just got in one of the longest naps since I have been home, maybe it all collected while laying down?

Hey guys -- I am 4 days postpartum and just passed a blood clot - not golf ball size - but pretty large, maybe half a golf ball.

Thoughts?

I am still bleeding - just now there was a little more than its been, I have been feeling more sore (second degree perineal tear) - swelling is almost gone too... Maybe less swelling is making sitting harder? Feeling more?

Should I call doc or is this normal?
