I didn't donate the first 6 month of nursing because I was afraid of affecting supply but did after without problem.

I know my Acupunturist advised that I should not donate blood while I was going through infertility and IUI/IVF. Something about disrupting the balance.

If you aren't actively TTC and there are no issues with nursing (I can't comment on it), I don't see why donating blood would affect fertility down the road.

I started donating again when DD was 10 months old. I'm still nursing 2x a day at 16 months. It's been fine and I've never noticed a drop in supply. Just drink a lot of water.

I don't when I'm nursing. I feel like my body is being asked to do enough. But to each her own!

I used to donate blood regularly before seriously TTC and pregnancy. I've held off since LO was born 7mo ago, due to some platelet issues I had. Now that I'm back to normal levels, I'm interested in donating again, but I am wondering if it would temporarily affect my breastmilk supply or the TTC process (in the FUTURE! :)) I imagine that a drop in blood volume would affect hormones....?

Has anyone ever donated blood during nursing or TTC, and seen any affect?
