Just found this thread, and I wanted to come back and update: that was my bloody show! I was already in labor and had LO about 12 hours later.

So, for future bees searching for info on bloody show: mine wasn't really very exciting-more pink than brown, and lots of mucous. But it was the real deal :)

@LovelyPlum: my bloody show was...bloody! Much worse than bleeding from cervical checks. I hope this is it for you!

No advice as I didn't have a bloody show (actually didn't lose my mucous plug until I was in transition either!) but I just wanted to say I am hoping this is it for you! It sounds promising! I know that false labor is the most draining thing EVER! Can't wait to "meet" LO!

For me, it was hindsight. I didn't bleed after any of my others. But when she checked me 3 days before my due date and said I was all closed up and likely going past my due date, I was pretty discouraged. As I walked home, I kept feeling wetness, which was not uncommon, but I went to the bathroom and had brown-red flow (more than spotting). I kept an eye on it, and it lasted the next 2 days...my water then broke in the middle of the night and DD was born 10 hours later! I did have more bloody show once my water broke.

@fussygal: I hope so! There hasn't been very much of this, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up yet. There's been painful contractions all day, though, so we'll see! But after all this false labor, I'm making them prove it to me that they mean business before I pay attention ;)

@Beebug: I have, but I don't usually bleed. I did on Thursday, and it was brown and kinda nasty. This was not very exciting, if I'm honest-a little mucousy, a little bloody, red/pink. I was 4 and a half cm this afternoon, so she told me to be on alert!

I think I've been fairly unimpressed by the mucuous plug, to be honest, because my cervix is inside out and weeps like that constantly when I'm not pregnant. But I would like it if something were to happen! :)

My bloody show was more mucous-y and goopy but my cervical check bleeding was more spotting/early period-like. Anything exciting happening?

Have you had cervical checks previously? That bleeding was very, ummm, boring? The show was chunky, mucusy and gross! The excitement from it outweighed the gross! Hope you are doing ok, and babes will be here before you know it!

Is there a way to tell the difference, or is more a hindsight is 20/20 thing?
