I didn't meal plan, and if I wanted to make a recipe, I would buy a ton of food and only use a portion of it. </p> <p>So, the Fresh 20 has saved us a lot of money, but it's not necessarily cheap. We buy a lot of organic stuff so that makes it more expensive too. There is usually some sort of seafood every week that can get expensive - one week it was lobster tails! But you can always substitute for a different protein. </p> <p>There is an estimate each week for the cost of groceries. The past few weeks have been: $80, $72.50, $78.50, $82, $71.50, $76.50. This is just for the 5 planned dinners. It makes enough food for lunches for us too. We usually spend $100-$130 per week on groceries that include drinks, breakfasts, pantry items, and snacks too. It fits in our budget, so I'm happy with it. Plated used biodegradable bags, at least. Though overall, there was still a lot of packaging that needed to be thrown away. The pork and tuna dishes was just okay. Side dishes were kinda awful. (We had quinoa for the first time and DH said it was the worst thing he has ever eaten...lol! Is quinoa suppose to taste bitter? I think the recipe just flopped. ) Oh, one of the pieces of pork had brown spots and smelled bad compared to the other piece. DH googled it and decided not to cook it. When I emailed Plated and asked what they could do. They said that it was normal (the smell). When I said there was brown spots, they apologized but still didn't offer any type of credit. I paid $12 per plate, so if I can't eat half my meal, I expect to be compensated! If I don't get something in return soon, I think I'm going to have to post something on their FB wall. The one good meal this week was the steak dish. That is one dish that the DH said he would like to make again. </p> <p>We got another box this Saturday (I bought this box and the last box at the same time), maybe this week will be different.</p> <p>Not that happy with Plated, right now.
