Thanks ladies,
I picked up the tablets from the health food store (reco'd by my naturopath), so I'm eager to see how it works out. I've had huge success with naturopathic medicine in the past, so we'll just see if baby girl feels like coming to meet us soon!

I started taking a tincture with black and blue cohosh and some other stuff at about 38 weeks. It's locally produced so I don't know if it's available online, but it was called Suki's Blend.

Anyway, I think it helped. I had lots of contractions before labor started and I think it helped me to dilate. I also did acupuncture labor points and EPO. I had my daughter 2 days before EDD (my firstborn was also a little early) and my labor was super fast-- I was 8 cm after only about 3 hours of labor!

With my first, the midwife gave me some very concentrated black and blue cohosh during labor and that stuff was no joke.

Good luck!

If you believe in homeopathy I won't start an argument, but in case you aren't aware (a lot of people I know are not), homeopathy=water/alcohol, and frequently not even one molecule of what it claims to be. It is made my repeatedly diluting the original substance down until it is nothing but water or alcohol.

I took a combined blue & black cohosh when I was pregnant with P (or atleast I was supposed to be... I always forgot). Since I didn't take it as directed I can't really say if it did or did not work, I ultimately went to 41+3 before going into labor. lol

I stopped by the midwives' office yesterday and was given a pamphlet on some natural and homeopathic remedies to 'encourage' labour. My midwife believes this baby is coming sooner rather than later, and told me to go all out with the remedies, if I felt like it.

So, I've been drinking RRL tea for a few weeks, and been taking evening primrose oil for about a week (and its helping things progress).

The newest thing she suggested was to take Caulophyllum, or homeopathic blue cohosh. Has anyone tried this? Any experiences?
