Food is fun and social for them and they get to learn about tastes and textures too. I'm waiting until 6 months and her 6 month appointment though, which is next week. Her pediatrician recommended that at her 4 month appointment. I like what I've read about waiting for the gut to mature. Maybe it's right, maybe it isn't, but I figure waiting isn't going to hurt. However, I'm a big believer is trusting your gut and doing what's best for your baby. He is completely enamored while watching us eat: wide-eyed watching and will chew along with us. He has excellent head control and excellent"hand skills," grasping any object and immediately bringing it to his mouth to chew on. by all accounts he seems ready, right?</p> <p> I guess what gives me pause is when I read up on BLW, everything says to wait till 6 moths so the baby's digestive system is appropriately developed. Should I wait the next 2-3 weeks to be safe? </p>
