1. When do I start giving her more complex food? Instead of just a veggie/fruit.

Right away, I say. Or better, whenever you can tell she's ready to chew and swallow it and move it around with her tongue. These were the limiting factors for my daughter for a long time, but she's always been a little slow on her physical stuff.

2. When should I start feeding her more then once per day?

Whenever she seems to want it and you want to give it to her. We went to two meals immediately at 6 months, and to 3 by 7. She really wanted to be eating solids.

3. What do you do in restuarants? Do you feed your LO the food?

Yep! Whatever she can chew and handle.

4. Should I be worried about giving her dairy products?

I did not, and saw no issues. Yogurt was one of her first foods.

5. How do I start giving her smoothies and when should I start?

You can let her sip from your straw or cup, hand her a loaded spoon, or use one of those little green reusable pouches. Start whenever you're convinced that dairy is good for her. Again, I started this at 6 months.

6. How did you introduce meat?

She just got very small shredded pieces. Very soft chicken and fish was all she really could do for a long time, so we did that.

7. Is fish ok?

Fish is ideal. You'll want to follow mercury guidelines and not serve an excess of certain fishes, but unless you're feeding a fish heavy diet, you're not likely to have an issue.

Horray for BLW!

1. When do I start giving her more complex food? Instead of just a veggie/fruit.--- At about 7-8 months, she started eating more off our plates.

2. When should I start feeding her more then once per day?-- follow your gut. We started with just lunch (since I was home) and then just let her take the lead. by 10ish months she was on 3 meals a day.

3. What do you do in restuarants? Do you feed your LO the food?--- This was a process. When she started eating dinner with us, we would bring some food from home and then I'd order things I could share. Now that she is 1 and eats like a piggy, we have to order a meal for her (I'd leave hungry if I had to share!). I'm not a fan of kids menu items, so we've taken to ordering an adult meal and asking for half to be packed up right away. I take it home and give her the leftovers for lunch the next day. No chicken fingers and grilled cheese for my girl, she wants steak! lol!

4. Should I be worried about giving her dairy products? -- If it hasn't been an issue yet, I wouldn't worry too much, but always double check with your care provider on something like that.

5. How do I start giving her smoothies and when should I start? Whenever you like. I started LO on smoothies at about 8 months, I just shared mine with her. She drinks from straws so I would just hold a straw in a cup and let her go to town. Now we fill her Zoli and she drinks it herself.

6. How did you introduce meat? We just gave her a hunk of chicken and let her play with it. She loves steak and red meat. Give her a hunk of steak, she'll suck and gnaw on it for 30 mins.

7. Is fish ok? I say yes. I hate fish but DH and LO love it!

Good luck!

I am diving into BLW now that DD is 6 months. We have been doing some BLW since she was 4.5 months but only every few days and only a fruit or veggie. So far she has had sweet potato, banana, avocado, and peas. She is really starting to chew and actually eat the food so we are now giving it to her 1 x per day as of last week instead of every few days. Here are my questions.
1. When do I start giving her more complex food? Instead of just a veggie/fruit.
2. When should I start feeding her more then once per day?
3. What do you do in restuarants? Do you feed your LO the food?
4. Should I be worried about giving her dairy products?
5. How do I start giving her smoothies and when should I start?
6. How did you introduce meat?
7. Is fish ok?

This is all new to me as I did purees with DS.
