We just did a flight with my BLW 10-month old. I'm still following the "under one, just for fun" rule, so I don't worry too much if he skips a "meal." We gave him cheerios and a sippy cup of water just to keep him entertained. He is still really messy (he likes to chew up banana and then spit it out), so we skipped the other foods.
If your baby is just starting BLW, then cheerios might not work if he or she hasn't mastered the pincer grasp. My LO really liked baby mum mums, which are rice crackers for babies that dissolve in their mouths and are easy to hold. They are kind of pricey, but a big treat for him.

I'd just bring along a banana.

I've had success bringing on things that are either factory sealed or whole, like bananas. I've never brought things like puffs and cereal because my son never took to them, but if your son is eating that stuff, I'd bring it along, in a smaller container. Can you get sealed pouch food? If you can, I'd bring a few just in case.

We didn't BLW, but when starting solids my baby didn't really care about eating food. I guess you'll be able to figure it out more once it's closer to the time. If your baby does seem to get hungry for food, you could always just bring some softer foods, like banana, and you could even mash it up just to be safe.

How old will the baby be?

I would say just do milk for the flight. If the baby has good practice, things like puffs, cereal, etc would be great.

We're planning to visit my parents in the states in the next month or 2. That means we'll be taking a flight that's 8ish hours with our baby who will just be starting to do baby led weaning. So how do we handle the flight? Do I just do milk feeds and skip solids while on the plane? I can't imagine that BLWing and confined spaces mix well.
Hopefully the flight will be a good time where he'll sleep most of the time anyway...
