@Alivoo01: I would think so, so long as the stomach is empire waist...if it is more fitted in the stomach, I would go even larger and then have it altered down where needed.

@Alivoo01: Some bridesmaids dresses also have a maternity version. Check that option too. If the dress is an empire waist, it will be much easier to figure out measurements (because they'll really only need your bust measurement).

@hilsy85: Thanks for sharing!! I'll let the bride know to order me a 10 just to be safe, and hope her seamstress doesn't mind taking it in a week before the wedding!

@Bluebonnet: The dresses are being made in Oklahoma (wedding is in Oklahoma as well), and I live in Texas. I'm going to inquire when's the latest I can turn in my measurements and go from there.

I would order several sizes up, especially if it's a form fitting dress. You can always have it taken in but letting it out can get tricky.

Do you live in the same city where the dresses are being made? Could you have the seamstress make all the other bridesmaids dresses first and save yours until last?

Talk to the seamstress and see what she recommends.

One of my bridesmaids was 16 or 18 weeks pregnant for my wedding. Pre-pregnancy was a size 2 and they had her order a 6. It was still tight in her boobs (she is blessed in this area). The dresses weren't tight fitting at all, but the liner was, so she ended up having to cut a hole in the liner for her belly. The pictures are pretty funny. You couldn't tell otherwise she was pregnant, given the style of the dress.

@Alivoo01: I was also a size 0/2 before I got pregnant...I would order like a size 8 or 10, just to be safe. It's not like you'll pay more to alter it from a 10 versus a 6, and that way you have extra room just in case.

@Alivoo01: there wa a big difference for me during that months time. Example? Bought a marerntiy shower dress at 27 weeks and by 31 weeks it was too small. I vote for ordering big and tailoring down!

I would also recommend adding a bit to your measurements and just make sure you have a tailor on hand who can give you last minute alterations, since it's soooo hard to predict, especially if it's your first pregnancy and you just don't know how you'll be carrying by 30 wks.

I was MOH at my best friends wedding 3 months postpartum, and had to turn in my measurements when I was 39 weeks pregnant, so I know your pain in reverse.

Good luck!!

I would def order bigger and then have it altered down if need be. Even if you can order a month before. Im pretty short and I am 32 weeks now. I felt around 29 was when I really started to "pop". Everyone is difffernt though. But you will be surprised how much you can grow in one month. Best bet would be to order a little bigger and have alterations done. Much easier to take in, only so much can be taken out.

Thanks ladies for all your help. If I am able to give my measurements a month in advance, you think they'll be much more growth in a month's time? Or should I just add a couple inches to that measurement just in case?

Oh wow, that's tough!

I'm 5'2 and pre preg was 110 lbsish. Here's my 29/30 week bump. I had gained 20 lbs by then and it wasn't just in ma belly. My boobs were huge (for me) and my booty and thighs and hips were much wider. I also had a small baby (at 30 weeks was measured at like 3 lbs and change).

It is a total crapshoot. I lost weight while pregnant but carried really high. At 29 weeks I'd gained five inches in the ribs. I'd order several sizes too big and plan to take it in

This is me today--28 weeks + 1 day. My boobs haven't grown much at all but it seems like most other people's do! For me, the biggest difference other than baby bump is rib cage--my bra band size is like 2-3 inches bigger but cup size is the same. I'm normally a 2 on top in dresses and at this point I would probably go for a 4-6. Do you know what the fit/style.material of the dress is? For reference, I'm 5'7"--since you're several inches shorter, my guess is that your bump will be more prominent, but it's hard to predict!

*ETA* I'm having trouble uploading...maybe it's a sign that I should be working! I will try again in a minute.

Ooh a custom dress may be really hard!

The biggest thing to plan for is the increase in boob size. Once I hit around 15 weeks, my boobs didn't get much bigger though.

Another thing to remember is that the front of your dress will need to be longer than the back of your dress because it has to go over a big bump.

I would ask when is the latest date you can give them your measurements.

I'm a bridesmaid in my BFF's wedding in May 2013, and I'll be 29 weeks by then. She's having our dresses custom made so I don't know what measurements to give her for my dress! I'm normally a size 2 in bridal wear (I'm 5'2").

Momma's that are/were 29 weeks, can you help me out? Would you mind posting your baby bump for this many weeks also so I have an idea what my belly will look like come then? Thanks!!!
