("Mat. Mat sat. Sam. Sam sat." is just not that fun.) They get a lot better/more interesting and even sometimes funny as you go, so we stuck with it through those first sets and I'm glad we did. I would recommend them as practice. It's hard to find readers for the very early stages, and these are as good as they come, I think. My daughter loves the first one and they do get progressively harder. If your kid is already reading, I'm sure they are boring but for pre-readers and kids just learning letters? The early ones are a little boring for everybody, in my experience. I brought them out recently and very casually started adding them to our rotation at night. My 4 year old really enjoys pointing out the letters and telling us what they are.
