Have you seen the latest? I just got an email from Amazon with a link to a recall of the replacement part that was provided during the "un-recall". Does anyone have an extra Thule lying around?

Thanks for posting this. I just checked ours and it was super loose and in the open position. Luckily I never run with it (I actually got it for longer all-terrain walks), so I’m not too worried about serious injuries if the wheel pops off.

But this still is a good reminder to check it frequently!

I checked both our BOBs this weekend. One was fine (and I ran with it) and the other the quick release lever was popped out which I had noticed and it’s the one we don’t really run with much anymore, but I need my husband to fix it because it’s so stiff and hard to push in. I definitely agree that there shouldn’t be so much room for user error. Especially because they are SO freakin expensive.

I have seen how this can happen. Britax says it is safe when used "as directed", which is basically true, but their understanding of how realistic that is...I don't know.

My toddler was walking around the stroller while I chatted with a friend at the park. They examined the wheels...I thought nothing of it. Turns out they had released the quick-release lever. After we reloaded, the wheel came off, but no injury occurred.

We have a bike with a quick-release lever, so I do understand the concept, but...should a product used around toddlers be so easy to dangerously disassemble??

I came across this 3 years ago when I was researching running strollers. It was mentioned here and there in some blogs, on some forums, and some review sites but of course there was no recall then either. We ended up with a Thule (not entirely because of this, but it certainly played a role)

Also, I was reading something that Graco had similar resistance to issuing a recall with its buckle debacle. They didn't want to recall for a long time. I don't know what eventually forced it (perhaps someone died...is that what will finally make Britax take action?) Anyway, they were fined $15MM for failing to act in a timely fashion.

My husband showed this to me today and I was so surprised. We've put a huge number of miles on our strollers and thankfully never had a problem, but this shook me. We typically run on sidewalks with the strollers which are of course along a road, or right on the side of the road. I just keep imagining the wheel popping off and us landing in traffic, or catapulting over the top of it if we're going downhill...

Anyway, I checked out the tightening recommendations and from what I looked at (https://www.consumerreports.org/jogging-strollers/what-you-need-to-know-if-you-have-a-bob-jogging-stroller/) it sounds like as long as you have your wheel properly secured you should be okay right? I ran with my friends Thule the other day and had already decided I'd get one of those if we ever need another running stroller (so light and smooth!).

In case folks haven't seen this, I came across this article about Britax's attempts to keep down a forced recall of the BOB stroller. I know a few of my Facebook friends are really questioning their use of the one they have, and a few actually called Britax and got very unsatisfying answers, so in case this helps anyone else...
