They'll usually tell you how it really fits and if you need to size up or not. It's probably due to vanity sizing...for ex, most places (JCrew, Loft, Banana) I'd be a 4 but at Boden I'm a 6. I've ordered a few things and find it to be pretty true to size compared to their measurements. Since I'm in Europe, I order from their UK site and find the UK sizes confusing compared to US or Euro sizes, so the measurements are key.
