Honestly, I would rather have small ones than huge ones like now, but I understand that either extreme is difficult. I don't know if I would actually follow through, since it's such a major surgery, but I like pretending that I would get a boob lift one day when I'm done having kids. I went from a small D pre-pregs to already at a DDD and LO isn't even here yet. I'm actually kind of disgusted by it.

Don't feel bad! I like my small chest (an A to start, two years plus of BFing, an A now), but I hear you on the clothes front. The American beauty ideal is not an A cup. (Which is garbage. Why is silicone more 'beautiful' than what the gorgeous, thin women in my family gave me?) The best solution I've got is padded bras. They feel a bit weird, but at least shirts fit. I'm waiting for a 1920s style revival from the fashion world! ;)

I dealt with the disappointment of losing my larger BFing bust by deciding that I'm proud of my boobs, whatever size they are. They did an admirable job of keeping my child alive and healthy for nearly 2.5 years.

I went from a C cup to an AA cup after I weaned my first LO. I am BFing my newborn and I have C s again...I can't wait to see my stretch marks!

I actually had the opposite happen: I was a C cup before getting pregnant, and after pregnancy and nursing #1, they are stuck at a DD. They were allllmost down to a D, and now back up to a DD because I'm pregnant again. No idea how big they'll get this time, but maybe they'll end up smaller after nursing baby 2. I actually wish for my smaller chest back.

I BF for 13 months, but DS is now 2.5 and my boobs are definitely smaller than before. I don't quite have the same problem since I was a very full C before and now I'm something like a C minus. For example, we were recently on vacation and a bikini top that used to fit very snugly pre-baby was literally sagging off of me and I ended up tossing it.

For me I don't mind because I've always felt large chested for my frame and going down half a size has really made a difference in how I feel about my body and how certain clothes fit. I feel like my boobs aren't the first things people see anymore, and I'm happy about that.

I'm currently pregnant with our 2nd, so I'm curious to see where I'll be after pregnancy/breastfeeding.

At the moment, I actually feel the opposite. My breasts were average size pre-pregnancy and are now HUGE! I do not like it. I'm looking forward to them getting smaller when I stop BFing.

I'm sorry, though, that yours are significantly smaller. All of these PP changes are difficult to deal with, that's for sure!

I'm in the same boat. My boobs were small to average sized before baby and BF. Now they're just small :( DH says he doesn't notice, which is really kind but doubtful.

I'm with you, I was an A before pregnancy and now my boobs are somehow smaller than they used to be. How can non-existent boobs be saggy?!?! I haven't decided what I want to do about them yet because we will probably have a second child. To be completely honest, I am considering enlargements after we're done because I don't feel like myself and I don't like the way my clothes fit anymore : ( So you're not alone.

It's been proven in studies that breast feeding doesn't actually have an effect on your breasts, but it's pregnancy hormones that cause the "damage" to our pre-pregnancy breasts. So if you want to have another child, bf or not, they can be effected

Pregnancy in & of itself changes the way our ladies are... I didn't bf G and had alot of self image issues when my breasts were flatter & not as perky pp...this time I've nursed for almost 14 mths with no end in sight & know that when we are done I'm sure they'll be different again. Sadly, many moms think that it's the "breastfeeding" that "destroyed" their breasts but in most cases that's simply not true... body changes are just part of the price we pay to have bebe's. Hopefully you'll get to be one of the ones that goes back to "normal" regardless of bf'ing or not (I was not one of those in any area of pre vs post pregnancy body... boo).

I hadn't really given it much thought because I've been so busy, but I was recently reading a local parents board and there was a posting from a mother who recently stopped BF. She wrote about the recent changes to her body, specifically, her breasts and how they were significantly smaller than before she got pregnant and how that was negatively affecting her body image and how she felt about herself. Her breasts had been small to begin with, but now they were almost non-existant and she was seriously considering plastic surgery.

After reading her post, I realized that I was in the same boat. I was small (size A) to begin with and now I'm a 12-year old boy. My husband doesn't seem to care, but I have noticed that my clothes don't fit as nicely and I actually miss my size A boobs. I'm not even considering breast enlargements, but I was wondering how other people have dealt with this issue. Is it just something that I have to live with? Will it get worse if I breastfeed a second child (not that I can get any smaller...)?

Thanks!
