This year, all our books are holiday/winter themed. Last year, my son had just turned 2, and since there weren't too many age-appropriate holiday books, I provided a mix. I'm planning to buy 1-2 books a year to add to our collection. In the meantime, we borrow most of the 25 books from the library. It's great because we can test out a bunch of titles and purchase the ones we like best.

Ours are all holiday. We reused about half, but his attention span improved a ton over the last year, and some of the books were too baby-ish. We plan to try to reuse 18-20ish each year and throw a few new ones in the batch. Many of the ones we have re-used are actually from my parents' house and were the Christmas stories I read growing up, which is sweet.

Nope! I just looked for cheap box sets to make up the 24 books. So I have 9 Gruffalo-themed books, 4 Are you my mommy? books and the rest is made up of books I got good deals on. I'm cheap

Yes, they are all holiday ones. We got some on sale that were packed up with the decorations from last year and then I borrowed some from the library.

I don't do the wrapping/numbering part, but we read at least one Christmas book per day in Advent and through Epiphany. They're mostly all Christmas related (either set during Christmas or actual Nativity stories), although I have a couple of winter-themed books and books about saints for specific feast days.

We own an embarrassing number of Christmas books because there are, er, a few that I *had* to own, so we reread those annually, but I borrow a lot from the library as well.

Yes, they are all holiday or winter themed. Mostly holiday, but we have some in there like "Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening" and "Owl Moon". We did it last year, and I traded a few of the books out...one or two that were way too long for his attention span, at least one that was misplaced during a move, and another two that we just didn't like. We reused the bulk of them, though, and I'll reevaluate again next year.

For those doing the book-a-day Christmas book thing - are all of your books holiday/winter themed? Do you plan on reusing the same books year to year?
