<description>&#60;p&#62;@shortcake:  I agree with you about the violence being a bit much, especially in regards to the domestic abuse incident.  I found myself really disturbed by parts of the book, but it made me think.  I made my husband read it so I could talk to someone else about it!  The characters really stayed with me though.  I feel like that's a hallmark of a well-written book.
