Last year I read a novel called These Is My Words. I loved it, DH loved it, I recommend it to everyone and have heard nothing but great things. It is about a young woman from teens through adulthood on the frontier in Arizona. It has romance, adventure, well researched, well written... Highly recommend this one :)

I read Let's Pretend This Never Happened when it first came out-- I thought it was hilarious, although a lot of the very funniest parts are already on her blog anyway. I still embarrassed myself laughing on the T a few times (but I cannot read about the giant metal chicken without laughing out loud, no matter how many times i read it).

I just finished The Secret Keeper, which was really good. I'm 80% of my way through How to Talk to a Widower which is already really good, but kind of sad, so maybe not a great vacation read.

I just finished Bossypants, and one called "Baby Proof" by the same author as Something Borrowed. The latter was not the best but an easy read.

I recently read "The birth house" by ami mackay and that was really good, I highly recommend it!!!

I love these book recommendation threads. I've been seriously slacking in the reading dept since LO was born, but I'm hoping to get to the library soon so I love hearing ideas!

I'm pretty big into sci-fi, and I just read the Wool Omnibus, by Hugh Howey and was really impressed. It started out as a self-published Kindle book but it's come out in paperback, and I was really surprised by how much I liked it!

Also, Gail Carriger writes some excellent fantasy/steampunk/romance novels, both adult and YA. I don't really know how to classify them, but they are really cute and funny.

Lately, a few people have posted asking for book recommendations. Since I'm on a babymoon in DR, I've been catching up on some reading.

I read Ghana Must Go, by Taiye Salasi yesterday. I couldn't put it down. highly recommend. http://www.amazon.com/Ghana-Must-Go-Taiye-Selasi/dp/1594204497

I also really like The Paris Wife: A Novel by Paula McLain. The writing isn't as good as Ghana Must Go, but it'd been out for a while and I'd been meaning to read it, and I still recommend it. It make me do a lot of research on Ernest Hemingway's wives and was interesting/engaging overall. http://www.amazon.com/Paris-Wife-Novel-Paula-McLain/dp/0345521315/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1365700738&sr=1-1&keywords=the+paris+wife+by+paula+mclain

Saving Ruth, by Zoe Fishman. I randomly picked this up at the library and it was good--pretty unknown! http://www.amazon.com/Saving-Ruth-Novel-Zoe-Fishman/dp/006205984X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1365700829&sr=1-1&keywords=saving+ruth

For those of you that read Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess.com), I also finally read Let's Pretend This Never Happened. It was good.....not my favorite, but still enjoyable. And still a recommend. Obviously, based on the amazon reviews, everyone else loves it! http://www.amazon.com/Lets-Pretend-This-Never-Happened/dp/0425261018/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1365700913&sr=1-1&keywords=bloggess

Anyone else read anything great lately you want to recommend?
