My older daughter dresses her every morning and for bed every night. The books are fabulous and there is nothing more precious and heartbreaking than watching your four year old being so proud of herself for sounding out the word "segregation" and then excitedly turning to me asking "mama, what's segregation" and me having to explain the whole depressing concept... And I think I have a couple of blog posts which mention books in my two part "talking to kids about race" series.</p> <p>Right now we're reading the American girl Addie Walker books. We've talked about slavery, abolition, Underground Railroad, emancipation and reconstruction.
