When your traveling it really don't make sense to lug around books and an ereader would make more sense in those situations. We are constantly on the go and during car rides Se loves to look at picture books. Paper books are definitely more fun to read together but there are also some pretty cool interactive books that my LO enjoys. I hope childrens books will stay on paper. I like certain apps like the Dr. Seuss ABC one. To me, multimedia learning is good.
