@looch: This is currently top on the list

@Foodnerd81: We have another Graco Mysize rear facing for our 2 year old. She'll be in that seat until she moves to a booster. I can squeeze my butt in between the two convertible seats on the rare occasion we need to put someone in the back, so something smaller would be nice but not a requirement.

@Mamaof2: This will probably be what we go for, but checking to see if anyone had any great suggestions I hadn't come across yet.

We have the affix also, the latch is helpful. Not only the projectile thing but also that it doesn’t move relative to the seatbelt buckle, which can get lost under a booster. My 6yo complains it is not as comfy as the giant Frontier we have but my younger sits in that now.

The bad news is it only works in my second row (Mazda5) because the third row has funky seatbelt geometry. So when #3 arrives in a month we have an evenflo high back booster that I saw recommended on here for that situation. I miss the latch but didn’t know of one that would work back there.

@kiddosc: do you have other car seats in the car, and how big is your car?

We are not there yet, but when I do get a booster seat I want something narrower than our big britax harness to booster, so I can fit a person in the middle seat. Right now between the two big car seats a small adult can’t fit.

I wanted one with latch so I didn’t have to buckle the seat in when not in use. I didn’t want it to be a projectile in an accident.

We have the Graco Affix.

The time has finally come to seriously start the transition to a high-back booster seat for my 6 year old. I'm hoping to score a deal on Prime Day on a high-back to no-back booster seat. He's currently in a Graco Mysize 70, so I don't have any use for a 3-in-1 seat. I've reviewed the recommended lists with CSFTL and Carseat Blog, but was looking for some real world recommendations.

What does anyone have that they like? What do you like about it? Bonus is it has LATCH connectors to keep the seat in place when it's empty (or is this a feature that seems super awesome, but it really unnecessary?).
