I'm the youngest of three, and sat in a chair similar to https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/70253541/ for longer than I should remember! I don't remember it being hard to get/out of.

@snowjewelz: They're only a couple of inches higher than our standard chairs (and a little lower than a booster) . I think what really helps is that they're so much more shallow than a standard chair that the kids are closer to the table. When my kids are in the big chairs they (especially J) are much more likely to be fooling around and sliding all over the place. They climb up and down easily with the bar that's on the chair.

@MrsF: They are dining table height? And they just jump off? How do they climb on?

I also just came to o recommend the ikea junior chair. We love them for my 5yo and 3yo and I rarely see them recommended. We have this style:

I also second the ikea junior chair for that age. We have a different style one than the one linked to above but we’ve been using it since DS turned 4 and it’s been perfect for our needs.

Maybe this would work if your older LO just wants to be up higher?

We have a 1 year old and a 5 year old. Lately our 5 year old has wanted to sit in the high chair. We have one of the Fisher-Price ones that straps to a regular kitchen chair. It’s been going on for several weeks and some evenings, we just let him sit in it and let the younger kiddo eat on our laps or whatever. I’ve been contemplating purchasing a cheap second booster or similar seat where it’d strap to another kitchen chair, but it seems so silly.

Our 5 year old is 50lbs and that seems to be the max weight for most booster seats.

Any thoughts/recommendations/suggestions?
