@Mamaof2: not a bad idea! She said in her last letter that even finding time to write is hard so maybe that would make it feel a little easier.

Cookies! Or muffins! DH did officer training and sure, he had a crappy little kitchen, but it was more like "pop in a frozen lasagna and hope it doesn't explode". I visited a few times and it was basically like staying in a hotel room.

I did ARMY basic for enlisted , so may be a bit different than her's, but FWIT:
She should be allowed to buy toiletries she needs, so basics should be covered, but extras like soft toilet paper and wet wipes and soft Kleenexes are always in demand. Any kind of snacks are always good, but be sure to find out if it is allowed and send enough for her squad. If snacks aren't allowed, you may get around that by sending cough drops, like Ludens Wild Cherry Flavored Cough Drops. Letters and pictures, of course. If you happen to have a cute picture of her, send that. It is fun to show your team what you look like when you aren't covered in camo!
Good luck to her.

So my sister is at boot camp/officer corps training for the next several months. Has anyone gone through that or had a loved one do it, and have ideas of what to send?

We haven't got the go ahead for packages yet. I've just been sending pics of the boys and drawings from them. Thinking about sending the comics page from the paper and some postcards.

Other ideas?!
