I'm wearing a pair right now that are half leather and half some kind of stretchy material and they don't gap at all. I finally ended up splurging on a pair of Frye Melissa lace up boots. I also have a pair of older Keen Bern Baby Bern's that fit, but my model had a lambs wool lining and lambs wool on the top of the boot which helped cover any gapping. I love mine, and my calves are pretty narrow.</p> <p>ETA: it looks like the circumference is 14," so maybe that's still too wide for you.
