I don't know how helpful this is, but here's my experience with IUGR. At 37.5w, they noticed protein in my urine and high blood pressure. They did additional blood tests and a scan and saw that the baby was in the 0th percentile for growth! Zero! I was kinda pissed because this obviously didn't happen overnight and wish they'd caught it sooner. Anyway, they told me I had preeclampsia and I had to deliver that night. So they induced me. The little guy was in the NICU for a week. He gained weight beautifully and has been healthy and following the 60-70th percentile curve since!

I have no idea how to get the baby bigger - for me, because of the preeclampsia, it was a placenta issue. I hope they give you some answers after your scan on Monday!

hey ladies, i'm at 32 weeks 5 days and just had my first ultrasound since 20 weeks because my belly was measuring small (was measuring on track as of exactly two weeks ago). looks like baby's head, etc., are measuring at 25th percentile (where my first was at birth & ever since as well) but abdomen is closer to 10th and so on the borderline for secondary/asymmetric IUGR. i'm going in for a follow-up scan on monday to check growth curve but looking for some other experiences. anyone have this occur and can share what you wound up doing/when you delivered and if you were induced? also, any tips for helping baby get a little bigger? at this point i don't think we know if it's an issue with the placenta, overall nutrition, etc. trying to process the news and not panic, so would love to hear some real-world experiences, thank you!!!
