I don't know NYC well, but Cup of Jo has some guides that look good!

October is Boo at the Zoo at the Bronx Zoo. Agree with PP there are many great museums in NYC. Central Park will be beautiful that time of year. The high line is crowded but still pretty cool. Not sure how old your LO is but maybe a show of some sort?

Will you be in the city of Boston or a suburb? In Boston there's lots of great things for kids, depending on ages and ability to tolerate crowds - Boston Children's Museum, Legoland Discovery center, and Quincy Market come immediately to mind.

Depending on how long you're staying and/or if you'll be north of Boston at all, Salem is a very entertaining place to visit in October, with loads of events for kids.
http://hauntedhappenings.org/
(and yes, people really do walk around in costumes, especially in the week before halloween!)

Not sure how old your LO is but I really enjoyed school trips to the Museum of Natural History when I was young. Have fun!

Hi ladies,

We are planning on going to the East Coast (Boston to visit family) and NYC to have fun. What are some family friendly places to go to eat & hang out in both places?

It will also be the first time we are taking A on a flight. EEEK!
