When LO was little it was just as you described it...Sometimes one, sometimes both, sometimes back and forth. Just make sure LO is getting enough from one feeding to get hindmilk. Once, LO was getting only the foremilk and ended up with a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance, which resulted in green frothy poop with black specks! (The foremilk is sweet and sugary and too much of it affects the tummy).

It's totally normal! For the first couple months, LO nursed from both sides each nursing. Then she took just one side for several months. Now she's back to both sides for some nursings. I've taken the approach of letting LO dictate how she nurses, and it's still going well at 7 months. The thing to watch for is poop color - if it changes from yellow to green, it may mean baby is getting too much fore milk and not enough fatty hind milk. If that happens, make sure baby is fully emptying the first breast before switching to the second.

At first when Mavrick would drink from my right he would feed both breasts. Then when he decided to be picky... I would feed left and pump right until my right didn't really produce anymore so i was a 1 boob breastfeeding mama.

I think its your choice. We started off doing one side per feeding and eventually started giving her both sides.

LO is a week old and depending on the time of day, she will take both for full feedings. At night, it's usually just one at a time because she'll be asleep after just 1 (and they tend to be fuller at night since I am not seemingly constantly feeding like during the day).

I keep reading about how people's babies only nurse from one side per feeding. LO is 2.5 weeks old and nearly always does both sides at each feed. Sometimes he'll go back and forth and do each boob twice (or more during growth spurts).
Is this normal/ok? or should he be getting enough from just one boob?
