I guess I have a nagging suspicion that this is related to bowel issues - at our peda suggestion I went off dairy and he seems so much better (no skin issues and barely fussy). DS is 10 weeks. He has always been a great eater. We were at 6oz every 4 hours on the dot up until about a week ago. I can say we tried it with the slow flow nipples first and he just got frustrated and pushed it out of his mouth a bunch. He stopped getting mad once I moved up a size. But, he was already switched to the Avent nipples at that time so it didn't cause him to gag. </p> <p>If he's gagging, I can't say I'd think it was that his nipple flowed too slowly. Typically too fast of a flow would cause gagging. I switched to Avent, which have a wider, shorter nipple, and he stopped. I think the old school shaped nipples were too long for him. He's also hated pacifiers since the beginning because they gag him, as well. The past 3 days though it is a struggle to get him to drink all of his milk during the day. At night, he takes his 3.5-4 oz just fine (he's 11w but a peanut) but during the day he stops 1/2 way through and then acts like I'm trying to gag him. Eventually after fighting me he will take it - he dibs and dabbles over an hour and usually I get him the rest of the bottle when he goes down for his nap (swaddled), so he is taking the same quantity. He otherwise is acting normal. </p> <p>Anyone experience something like this? Tips? </p>
