We just went through this, getting her to take a bottle. She started out with Avent, at two weeks. We just did it every once in awhile. Then started to try one every night and she wouldn't take it. Tried Dr Browns, Drop Ins, Nuks, and Tommee. Had the best luck with Tommee. I think that it is the most like my boob, so it works the best. My advice is buy one of each bottle, that way you don't have to spend as much, nor have them all in your house.

She would take it some nights and some night would scream till she got the boob. After not taking it at a trial run for day care last week, we had a bottle boot camp over the weekend. The hours that she would be in day care, she got a bottle. The first one each day she fought us, but she gave in after awhile. Day care had no issues with her yesterday.

I have noticed she likes it better when really hot. Maybe try the same time each day, so she expects a bottle and not the breast.

Ugh, that's so frustrating! I hope you're able to resolve it soon!

My mom told me that when I was a baby, I refused to take a bottle from my Dad because I only wanted to nurse. My Mom was out of town alone one weekend, so they HAD to get me to eat. My Dad put the nipple cream my mom used on the nipple of the bottle, and apparently I took it like magic!

So after much heartache related to breastfeeding, at 7 weeks, LO has been on a roll and has been eating from the boob pretty well.

Now as of the past few days, she's decided to go on a bottle strike! We've been feeding her with a bottle from the beginning to supplement, and never had any problems.

Now it's hysterics and screaming when dad tries to feed her. He usu. takes 2 shifts to give me a break, plus her grandparents sometimes feed her as well.

I saw a post from Mrs. Bee with some useful tips. These are the things we're going to try:
- try formula
- try the milk hot
- try freshly expressed milk
- try lots of difft bottles/nipple types & flows
- have someone other than mom/dad feed LO
- feed LO outside to distract her

We've been trying Dr Brown's bottles, Medela, Playtex Vent Aire, plus a sample Similac bottle we got. We're mixing up

DH had a little luck finally this AM by putting his pinky in her mouth to let her suck, then doing a switcheroo with the bottle, after an hour-long struggle. It's his first day back at work, and it was sad that he had to deal with that before he went in.

I'm about to order $60 worth of bottles/nipples from Amazon. Sigh...
