When she started daycare at 3 months, we sent 4 4 oz bottles. Around 4.5 months moved up to 4 5 oz bottles, and just yesterday at 6.5 months moved up to 4 6 oz bottles, but she only finished three of them.

7 months old - 21 lb baby

4 bottles with 5.5 oz each. I used to send the 4 bottles with 6 oz but I kept getting the fourth bottle back undrank...undrunk...unused. Now with 5.5 oz some days he drinks everything, some days there's a bottle left over.

When I started at 3 months she got 3-4 bottles of about 3-3.5ounces each. But they were also willing to feed her every two hours if needed.

DS is 4months - I send 3 bottles of 4oz each so 12oz. The sitter also has a couple of frozen baggies in case of needing a little extra here and there plus a frozen 4oz "bottle" if we were running late or are picking up late one day. He is at the sitter for about 10 hours so eats just over 1 oz for each hour he is there. No solids yet.

@CarrieLouWho: He's 7 months old. But he's small because he was born 6 weeks early. So, he's more comparable to a baby that's 5.5 months old.

LO is almost 9 months:

I send three 5 oz. bottles, plus solids. LO hasn't been drinking all of it (which is unusual) but it's a new situation and she's also teething.

7 months old
3 bottles 4.5oz each because she wasn't finishing her 5oz bottles.
2oz puree

I have always sent 5oz bottles, she always drank them until recently when she started leaving some behind. It's totally trial and error!

@LittleK - how long has your LO been taking that much?

For those of you that pump and send breastmilk to daycare -
How many bottles do you leave?
How many ounces per bottle?
How old is your LO?

LO is 3 months and we just started daycare. They are pretty keen on getting the babies on a schedule of eating every 3 hours, and I had nursed on demand. I'm ok w/ the schedule, just trying to to determine the right amount of milk to send.

The first day I sent 5 bottles, each w/ 3 oz. She only had 3 bottles, so 9 oz. I felt like that wasn't a lot/enough (but that's just going on my gut). So I increased to 4 oz in each bottle, just sent 3 bottles (12 oz). That seems to be working, but she's drinking the whole bottle at each feed.

I read the Kelly Mom article/calculation tool, and she's on par with their calcs... just curious what other moms are sending.
