We did swing and then exosaucer (at 4 months) now we have a basket of toys (half plush and half rubber/activity based) and board books and a baby friendly cupboard in the kitchen. :p I'm a minimalist and our space is small.

We have the snuggabunny swing downstairs and a compact bright starts swing upstairs and the rainforest bouncer...she loves that stupid vibrating function and sometimes it works when the swing doesn't. She likes to stare at the waterfall lights. Maybe you can find a used one? When I went to those baby garage sale things, they had these in abundance!! The bouncers are more mobile-I take it outside and plop her in it while I garden. I got an exercaucer for $35 at one of those sales, too.

Will any of your friends let you borrow for a week or two!

We use our bouncer still at almost 6 months - it is a convenient relatively portable safe spot to plop the baby. Right now its our staging area by the door while I'm gettin the car ready so he doesn't roll away after I've put my shoes on. When he was little he'd sit in it while I showered, cooked, etc and was entertained by the mobile. I loved the ease of moving it from room to room.

Jumperoos and ever saucers are for older babies.

Swings are hit or miss, unfortunately I don't think there's any way to know what your LO will like until they're here! We tried the mamaroo and snuggabhnny and he didn't care for either.

We only had a swing for the newborn period. LO loved it, but I did wish for a bouncer at times, because I didn't have anything portable that I could carry from room to room. So I think a bouncy seat/bouncer is good to have too. We also have a jumperoo, which he started using around 4/5 months and he LOVES it. best purchase ever.

We have 4 swings. Ridiculous, it is, but 3 were hand-me-downs and we're told work well for different stages of baby. Well, I didn't want anymore "stuff" so I didn't get a RnP, didn't get a Bouncer, exersaucer, etc. Let me tell you, I went out an bought a bouncer chair after a couple of brutal days. NO swing, would make baby happy and my arms were falling off! To this day, it's our favorite place to rest the baby if I need a break or do something. And sometimes, she falls asleep in it on her own. Magical! Even if it is only useful for 2 months (what age she is now), I would say it's worth every penny, because it can be a long 2 months without somewhere baby is willing to be set down in. All that to say, you can wait, and see what your baby will like. Maybe you LO will love the one and only thing you register for. Maybe you'll need something else. Ay... every baby is different...

We received a bouncer as a gift and it was DS's favorite. I bought a used swing after he was born and he hates it. We used it may e 5 times. We also had a jumperoo and we used it from 4ish months to around 10 months or so. I would wait to get a jumperoo/exert saucer though. Your LO won't use it in the beginning and you can get a great deal around the holidays. I bought ours for $50 on Black Friday.

I have a jumperoo but I would definitely choose that or the exersaucer over the bouncy seat, although the bouncy seat comes in handy sometimes. Also, although my baby LOVED the swing, some actually do like the bouncy seat better.

We have a swing and survived! Looks like your gliding swing is good enough.
I would register for an exersaucer. We started putting the kids in it at 4 months and they both love(d) it. I have the baby Einstein.
We kept gear to a minimum and were fine. :)

I polled a bunch of you/real life friends before registering. The only thing I had issues with were the swing type things. I knew the Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing was good because it swings, vibrates, and has a plug in so it won't run out of batteries. These were things highly recommended. But most people say to register for a 2 or so different types. The Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing we registered for just got purchased (first registry gift WOOHOO!) so I'm thrilled! But I want to figure out the other choices and see if I could make better choices?

We also registered for the My Little Snugabunny Bouncer. I was unsure if this was versatile enough? It just bounces... seems to be just for really BABY babies and doesn't do more than... bounce? Is this a good choice to pair with the above? Is there something better that would suite needs I'm not sure of? We also registered for a Baby Einstein activity saucer but I believe that's for older babies, correct?

Is there a function I'm missing here? Something better than the bouncer/activity saucer? Thanks for the thoughts!
