I would have used an expired epi, too.</p> <p>@tequiero21: I do agree that 911 operators and even doctors probably can't advise to patients to take expired medication. </p> <p>I took a CPR class and I think paramedics can't even administer epi pens unless it has been prescribed to you.</p> <p>You could be having allergic reaction and don't have an epi pen but if a stand by-er has one, the paramedics still can't give it to you. They don't want to get sued. Plus, they have to think about any possible drug allergies or interactions. </p> <p>There is an inhaled epinephrine that is does not require an RX that paramedics have recommended.
