@Adira: If he starts leaking again, give it a shot. We use the same size, one right on top of the other.

@Adira: Yay! That's great you found something that works!!

For the record, and I'm clearly late to the game, we use two diapers (one right on top of the other) and never have nighttime leaks that way. We had a ton of problems before.

I'm reporting back after much experimentation!

Huggies Overnites, when actually put on tight enough (oops), resulted in NO LEAKS for three nights straight!! Then I switched to Pampers Extra Dry to try them out since I had them, and again, when put on tight enough, also NO LEAKS for three nights straight!!

Thank you everyone for all your wonderful advice!!!

@Mrs. Confetti: I didn't because when I sized up in the Pampers Baby Dry, they were WAY too big (although maybe I just didn't get them tight enough). The size 4s say they are for 22 - 37 lbs and Xander's less than 25 lbs, so I thought that size would be fine (he actually still wears size 3s during the day).

@Adira: Not the Pampers Baby Dry, the Extra Protection. They are Pamper's version of overnight diapers. LO sleeps on his stomach a lot and so he's usually overflowing out of the top of his diaper in the front. The Extra Protection have zones that are different than the Baby Dry when they're standing up and walking around that help to absorb better. We size up in the Extra Protection overnight diapers and that did the trick.

@Adira: We don't have a boy, but my LO soaks through her diaper EVERY night and it's exhausting changing sheets every day! She has like 900 pairs of pajamas just because she can only wear a set once before they're washing-machine bound. We used to use Pampers her whole life, and we've tried the overnight ones as well as the Huggies overnights. The Huggies overnight did better but still sometimes leak, and they have leaked when she's wearing them and just happened to pee a bunch all at once...Anyway, I ended up ordering 7th Generation Overnight Diapers on Amazon after reading reviews and decided to give them a try and I LOVE them. They have not leaked even once! And her diaper is not as gross in the morning? Like 500 lbs and sopping wet...Whatever is in those things just absorbs pee like crazy and it is so much nicer than Pampers or Huggies and I'm sold and switching over:)

@2PeasinaPod: Oh, interesting! Maybe I'll have to try the Pampers Baby Dry in the size up again, but maybe I didn't get it tight enough last time. Guess I'll just have to keep experimenting until I find something that works!

@Adira: We sized up in the Pampers Extra Protection when he started to leak out. I also make the diaper as tight as I can since he also doesn't come close to meeting the minimum size for the size up. Haven't had a problem since!

@Adira: I think L holds it all evening too. Daycare changes her diaper at 3ish, and it's still pretty much dry when I put her to bed at 7. And she drinks a LOT. I might try getting her to use the toilet before bed or something... Not really potty training, just trying to get her to stop holding it!

@swurlygurl: I didn't think he drank a LOT, but it kind of seems like he stores up all his liquids to pee out overnight or something, haha. He had a full diaper before his bath last night and then didn't drink any liquids after that, but still woke up wet this morning! It leaks out the top and his belly is wet. :(

We had that same issue when we sized up in the Pampers Baby Dry diapers. It leaked out the leg and his entire legs and feet in his footie pjs were soaked. So gross. :(

With my oldest I used Pampers Extra Protection and one size up. The key to using one size up is to pull it higher when you put it on so there is no gap around the legs. With my youngest, he has a big butt and Pampers EP only goes up to size 6 so I started using Pampers Cruiser's size 7 diapers (only found on Amazon) and they have worked well. I think the only time that he leaks out is when I forget to pull the front up a little higher. I also have a zip off crib sheet (http://www.cloudsandstars.com/QuickZipCribSheets.aspx) and put another flat waterproof sheet under so it's easy to take it off to wash. I have two sets so when one is in the wash the other is on the crib.
