I liked cake nursing bras from Nordstrom. They are stretchy.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely check out the bravado...sounds like it's worth it to get a nursing bra along the way!

I wish I had gone ahead and gotten nursing bras. If nothing else, it would have been one less thing to worry about getting once she was here.

I bought 2 bravado nursing bras as soon as my pre-pregnancy bra felt uncomfortable, which was early on! Still wearing the same bras and my LO is 14 months old.

I wore Coobies until 36 weeks when I couldn't handle any binding on my rib cage at all. So then I wore tank tops with soft shelf bras and put cutlets in them to hide the nips. After I gave birth I pretty much just lived in nursing tanks with disposable Lansinoh nursing pads in them. The nursing bras made my ribcage uncomfortable still so I wore them rarely. My favorite nursing tanks were actually these über cheap ones from the Walmart website - like 2 for $25. The kind I got were flared so they were looser over my PP belly, good thick straps, and the clips snapped and unsnapped so easily. They weren't much to look at but I actually liked them better than my Bravado ones.

Pre-pregnancy I was a B. Start of 2nd trimester, I had grown to a D, and bought these: http://www.amazon.com/iLoveSIA-Womens-Seamless-Nursing-Bralette/dp/B016MWTJSI
The elastic band is so comfortable, and the padding gives enough coverage - my nips are a lot more sensitive now and like to stand out ;) and the price is great.

Now I'm at the start of my 3rd trimester and verging on a DD, so I bought another set, sizing up. I wanted more, and I wanted the option of a bigger size.

They are the only bras I wear, starting at about 20 weeks. I hope they will last me through nursing. The coobie bra stopped fitting around 17/18 weeks.

I sized up once during pregnancy and bought a soft no-underwire bra in one cup larger than I normally wear. That bra did not fit me at ALL after my milk came in. My ribcage expanded a lot during/after birth plus of course my boobs were enormous. I bought a stretchy sleep bra and a couple nursing tanks once I was a few weeks postpartum.

[ETA] I looooved the Coobie bra for most of my pregnancy but it is not a good bra for nursing and pumping. The clips require too much effort to do/undo all the time.

I bought a few nursing shelf bras and sleep bras during pregnancy and they still fit but only just. About 6weeks pp I bought 2 proper nursing bras 2 sizes up from my original size because even the sleep bras were too tight and cutting across my areola which I think contributed to a bleb.

I like the cake maternity bras but they aren't cheap!

Bravado Seamless Bra...they have a great website but also sell on amazon. I feel like they give more support than some other popular bras

I gave up trying t figure it all out. I am big chested but I just wore Coobie bras (basically a comfy cushy self bra) with room to grow. Then I went to non-wire nursing bras, and now back to Coobies now that I weaned. Eventually, I'll get a bra..

With my first, I bought a size up (32g) in the middle of my pregnancy and then bought 2 nursing bras at 37 weeks and 2 more when she was 3 weeks (same size, 34 h/i). When she was 15 months and still nursing, I bought new nursing bras in a smaller size (34e). I wore those through my second pregnancy. My second kid is just shy of her first birthday. I can still wear that size or my original, pre-preg bras (32f).

When it came to buying bras during your pregnancy, what did you do? Did you find you had to size up multiple times? Did you just go straight to a nursing bra? What would you do differently?

Any tips or brand recommendations are appreciated, too. Thank you!!
