I hate wire to begin with.. I was a 32DDD, and I just started wearing coobies. I couldn't care if my boobs will sag b/c I just needed something more gentle! I wore them the whole way through, and then went right into wireless nursing bras/tanks. So I haven't wore a real underwire bra in over a year :silly:

I have the Bravado Allure in 36 F/G that I love (it's their underwire nursing style). Also have an Anita underwire one that I like. That said my main nursing wear are actually nursing tanks. During pregnancy I wore normal microfiber bras that were a little strechier which enabled me to wear them until delivery.

this bra was a lifesaver for me as a 34DDD pre pregnancy. Expensive, but I had planned for bras to be my splurge item during the pregnancy and postpartum period. http://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/juno-sports-bra/350025.html?dwvar_350025_color=001#start=13

I'm a 38F right now and wearing an Anita nursing bra. It has a lot of stretch to it! I stick a removable bra pad in it when I go out because there's little out there with nipple coverage

@MamaBear87: Thanks! I'll check that brand out.

The wire is just starting to bug me. I wore sports bras to bed, but hate how they look on me (especially with big boobs!) so have been sticking to my usual bras (just bigger) during the day.

I bought a wireless nursing bra early on to try, but of course the size on the hanger didn't match the size of the bra so I never got to try it on (and then I was too big for the store!)

Pre-pregnancy, I was a 32DD, now post-pregnancy and breastfeeding (almost 5 months pp) I'm a 32F! Yikes! I changed bra size midway through pregnancy, and then once I was in the 3rd trimester they got bigger. By the time I was 7 months pregnant, underwire was super uncomfortable, so I just started wearing nursing sleep bras. Because my belly was big, the sagging didn't really happen (and I don't have particularly perky boobs). About 3 months pp, I decided I was sick of the saggy boob look (after not having the belly, sagging was a problem), so I switched to really well-made nursing bras with underwire (at like $70 each--eeeek! but worth it since they provide great support and are comfortable). I still wear the comfy sleep nursing bras around the house and at night.

I'm 29 weeks and was a 32 DDD preprego. I grew just a bit in my first tri, but could still fit in same bras. 2nd tri still same bras but def started wearing sports bras a lot for the comfort factor. My rib cage has def gotten bigger and the bump around 24 ish weeks made under wire insanely uncomfortable. Finally bought a nursing bra last week and wish I had done it earlier. I bought a bravado body silk...not positive on the name, if you look up bravado on amazon it's the first one that comes up, it was 50 bucks, but I was able to buy a size up and still be decently supported so it should fit post baby. My boobs look pretty good for their being no under wire and it's so comfy!

I found a smaller maternity boutique near me, ie not a chain, and they carried a lot of the nicer nursing bras in store. Super helpful to be able to try on. I went with a s m l xl type one rather than a specific size has more stretch and should fit for longer.

Sorry this is super long. I just wish I had gone to try some non underwire on sooner. They look and feel way better than sports bras so don't suffer for so long like I did!

Prepregnancy I was a 36D.

Around 11-12 weeks I upgraded to 38DD (same bra, so I know it was an actual change, not just wearing a different style).

I'm now 18 weeks, and my cups runneth over. AGAIN!

So I need two pieces of advice.

1. Recommendations on comfy DDD/E (and larger? Will they keep up this rate?) bras (affordable would be an even bigger bonus!)

2. When did you switch to nursing/maternity bras? I fear losing an underwire because that would lead to major saggage...but just in case I don't keep increasing (or in case I decrease to this size post partum), I'm wondering if it makes sense to go ahead and switch now so I don't have to rebuy the same size in nursing styles down the road.

WWYD?
