I kept growing into my third...I think I went up sizes like 4 times. I just bought a couple cheap bras without underwires at Target because I ended up buying a new one a couple weeks later. I started in the C's and ended up a DD. I'm not sure how big they went. I didn't buy nursing bras until the end (like 38 weeks) and I'm glad I waited. They fit perfectly now, but they wouldn't have fit if I had bought my bigger second trimester size!

I bought a few sports-bra style nursing bras during my second trimester. They were super comfy and fairly supportive (36E), and grew with me throughout my pregnancy. I had to buy one size up for the first few months of nursing, but at 9 months pp, I can wear them again.

I went to the store and was measured in the first trimester and the lady was great in helping me pick out bras that would "grow" along with me. Lasted until the end and then I went to a local tailor I use and had her convert them into a nursing bra - it's easier than you think and better than buying multiple bras. I will say I"m more on the smaller side, so I don't know if that will work, but it's an idea to explore perhaps!

@juliem: Thanks! I will give that one a try. I have a feeling I will have a full lingerie store variety of sizes before this nonsense is over...

I was a 32E pre-pregnancy and went to a 32GG during pregnancy and then a 32I when nursing, so I'd agree with the first comment to not buy nursing bras yet. You may grow again when your milk comes in. I did require a bra extender in the third trimester when my back and ribs expanded, but was still able to wear these.

The bra below fits great and also worked after my milk regulated (8-9 months postpartum) and my size went down a bit. It has full coverage and worked as a nursing bra since the lace was so light and could just be pushed aside. They also sell Panache bras at Nordstrom.

Thanks! Bras are one area I can't seem to skimp on so I at least want to make sure I purchase the right thing if I am going to spend a fortune. @septca: I will look into the Bliss, I definitely need some support or I just look heavy instead of large chested.

Another vote here for going ahead and transitioning to nursing bras. Nursing bras were so much comfier, and I was kicking myself for waiting so long into my pregnancy to transition. I wore the Bravado Body Silk.

I would go straight to nursing bras. I was a 32F/G before I got pregnant, and topped out at a 34H/I during second tri (when you are supposedly your biggest). I LOVE the Bravado Bliss - no underwire (I had to stop wearing it at 24 weeks due to rib issues), but lots of support. Best thing is that it comes with a band extender - totally saved me when I got bigger!

I started a 36DDD, I wouldn't buy nursing yet, you will get even bigger., save those purchases until right before you have baby. I bought 1 "normal" bras with a bigger width than normal and went up several cup sizes to wear for special occasions and then honestly I wore sports bras all the time, the skinny straped Champion ones from target They gave me support and were comfortable. I couldn't stand an underwire when pregnant.

I lost weight in the first trimester so I went down a size then gained a little went back to my normal size and now I am growing out of my normal size. So do I buy nursing bras? Regular ones with the intention of having Nordstrom convert them later? I wear an odd size so any other busty ladies have suggestions on what to get? I am normally a 34F
