H started clapping last week and now she claps whenever she is proud of herself. It's so cute! She claps her hands up high so it's like she's giving a round of applause.

Way to go HB babies!

LO has had a learning explosion right now at 10 months! All of a sudden she can say "hi" and "uh oh", wave, clap, show us her tongue and put her arms up for an armpit "tickle tickle". Each new accomplishment is so exciting!

Miss G can roll from belly to back and push up with her arms when she is on her belly. She also has amazing head control and has from the day she was born. It is crazy but also awesome how observant she is!

E knows all of his letters and can sing the alphabet, can count to 12 (usually correctly), and knows all of the Brown Bear animals. I had a phone conference with his teacher last week, and she told me that she thought his verbal skills were a big strength...that he's not a motor-mouth, but when he talks he's very clear and concise (which is such a relief to see/hear, since I was worried about his slow speech development).

He also randomly started saying and signing "more please" which is weird since he showed no interest in signing so we stopped trying months and months ago and it's not something they do at daycare.

@yoursilverlining: I love it! I bet she'll be writing words before you know it.

J can spell his name and write it out, too. He's two and a half as of today.
He loves writing letters and is really, really good at it!

He also is ridiculously good at sports, can get a golf ball in the hole, hits a baseball out of the air, etc. Yesterday he set up three blocks as targets in the house and kicked the soccer ball to knock t each one down. Training exercises, lol

I have another talker here, too. :-) Everyone comments on how verbal he is, which is hilarious because to us, it seems like he hardly talks in front of other people.

He's 17 months and pretty regularly strings 3-4 words together. I don't really know what's "normal" for this age, but his teachers say he talks way more than other kids, and I haven't really known many other toddlers around his age who talk as much as he does.

Also, he has a really good overhand throw! And can shoot baskets one handed on his little basketball hoop!

I love this thread – sometimes you just need a little space to brag on your kid without feeling like a gloating jerk!

My brags on E, who just turned 2 last week:

Eleanor has mastered writing the letter “e”. She worked really, really hard on it for several weeks and mastered it last month! Per her request, we are now working on the letter "h".

Also; she is really artistic. Her teachers always comment on how into art she is – while the other toddlers are like smearing all the colors all over the place my girl’s papers are covered in tiny, calculated dots, short and long lines and distinct shapes (and, of course, lots and lots of e’s!). When lots of art is hung up on the wall, it’s obvious that her art *is* really different from the other kids – my mom is an amazing artist (fine art painter), so I do wonder if E has her talent too! I hope so!

Photographic evidence of E's e's: :silly:

B sat through a three hour graduation the other day without one peep, he listened the whole time and acted interested! Everyone told me how behaved he was (I didn't go but I got quite a few texts from DH's family of how they were impressed with him).

E has really cut back on the tantrums lately...hooray!

She's very advanced verbally & our doctor compares her to a 2 year old instead of a 1 1/2 year old due to how advanced she is. I love that she picks up on stuff. She's counting (although not always in order, she usually likes to skip to 8-9-10 after 3...) I think gets too excited to get to the end.

We are working on ABCs & potty training!

Maybe 15 days old is too early to brag, but E was back up to birth weight at his 1 week check-up, nurses like a champ, and his dr. said he was an A+ baby.

This is such a relief, since he was born via c-section at 37 weeks and I was really worried we'd struggle with BFing.

One thing he has been doing recently is pointing out letters everywhere... like on the dishwasher, "O-N, O-F-F" I was shocked! So then we started talking about what they spell and he kept saying O-N, on. It was way cute.

I remember at her 12 month appointment he asked me if she said "mama" and "dada" and I said "no, but she says dog and ball just fine". But once she moved up to the toddler 2 room at school she learned new words every day! It was amazing how quickly things changed once the ball go rolling.

C is always SO happy and outgoing . She totally plays it up for everyone and loves making people laugh.

I take her up regularly to see my grandmother who is in the hospital. She always cuddles, smiles, laughs and plays with my grandmother and the other elderly lady my grandma shares a room with.

Yesterday when I was there, the lady's daughter told me that seeing C is the highlight of her mothers day and "playing with the sweet baby" is all she can talk about after we've left. It made me proud that DD seems to know who needs an extra smile and she will do anything to brighten someone's day !

@MamaMoose: I know, right? When I told DH the story he asked why I would assume she'd done something wrong! I just really don't want to be a naive parent that thinks their kid is an angel 24/7, but I guess I also shouldn't always assume the worst.

She's such a weird and funny little kid. A couple of days ago my grandma was drinking a soda, and Vi was asking for some, and my grandma says "No you are too little for soda." Then she turns to ask me - "When can she have soda?" Before I could even respond, Vi puts her hand on her hip and does this half eye roll and says "Pshh, never."

I can't imagine where she got that. :P
