Just an update: doctor was not concerned. He said even if I went into labor today they wouldn’t try to stop it. But I will probably just have them until 40 weeks :wink:

I'm 29 weeks and I've been getting them daily for weeks. My OB told me that it's normal and just to try to stay hydrated.

@magnolia: I had a lot more in the second pregnancy- lots and lots in third trimester around 28w onwards. Baby came just after 36 weeks but I don’t think they thought BH were a sign of early labour, not that they mentioned or anything. Good luck! Never hurts to call & get checked out.

@magnolia: I had a lot more with my second pregnancy than I did with my first. I also think I was more aware of them the second time around whereas the first time around I had no clue what was going on!

I had to take colace throughout both my pregnancies. I was on extra iron (borderline anemic) and that made me so backed up.

@paigeface: lol I just realized I responded to your post.

Definitely having the constipation problems as well. :shocked:

I realized also I’m just wishful that baby comes sooner than later. Even though I know she needs to stay in a little longer

I have had a good amount of Braxton hicks contractions starting at 33 weeks with this pregnancy (currently 36 weeks, and not at all dilated). My OB said it is common to get more Braxton hicks contractions with each pregnancy, and this has been true for me.

@magnolia: A few weeks ago I had them so bad that I wrote in here too! I think that day was bad because I was backed up bathroom wise and hadn't had BM in several days (oh the joys of pregnancy!)

@MrsKRB: @bhbee: @psw27: @paigeface: thank you all!

Going to the restroom seemed to help. I’m pretty hydrated. I see my ob tomorrow so I’ll see what he says. I just didn’t want to be sent to L&D for nothing. They seem to have settled down a bit....

I told my husband, let the false alarms begin. This is my second but I don’t remember having them so frequently with my first

I too get them frequently and I'm exactly 33 weeks like you! I've been noticing that I even get them in my sleep lately and they will sometimes wake me up. It's definitely my body telling me to go use the restroom. Whenever my bladder is full or I haven't drank enough water I get them like crazy. I agree with @BHBEE this is my second pregnancy and they are much more prominent in this pregnancy than my first pregnancy.

My doctor gave me the advice to call if they are regularly spaced or not going away when you a) drink water b) empty your bladder c) change positions (lay down, sit down, walk around). Hope it is nothing!

I say normal, agree drink water and rest, but call ob if you are concerned - it’s always ok to call! I got a ton and it got worse each pregnancy. Oh and full bladder also made mine much worse so get up to go frequently.

I would try drinking a bunch of water. I’ve gitten them frequently, but I’ve never counted.

I’m sitting here at my desk at work and I’ve had 8 Braxton Hicks contractions in the past hour. (I started noticing them more frequently yesterday so I got a timer). I’m 33 weeks.

I’m not in any pain but wondering if this is normal. Yesterday I felt really off like I was getting the flu but today I’m feeling fine.

Anyone have any input ?
