Have you tried hard boiled eggs? Lo has always preferred them to scrambled or fried. She also loves zucchini or pumpkin bread with cream cheese. You can get creative and add all kinds of stuff to the batter. She also loves cottage cheese with fruit or cinnamon.

Nothing revolutionary, but one thing I like is whole wheat toast with a little sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on.

Hello dear mom, I’d like to help you in finding breakfast ideas. Kids need many ingredients to make food healthy. These are ideas for food as Sandwich triangles made with egg, tuna, chicken salad, or easy-to-chew meat. Hummus, whole wheat pita and soft cooked and cooled vegetables. Milk or yogurt-based fruit smoothies in an open cup. Yogurt with pieces of soft fresh fruit and rice pudding made with milk is very useful. Try banana bread thinly spread with nut or seed butter is also so good.

My toddler is a super picky breakfast eater (but is so cranky if she doesn't eat enough!). We've had luck rotating in and out with finger foods she can graze on - Nutrigrain bars, Belvita biscuits, sliced fruit, peanut butter toast, etc. Her latest favorite though has been frozen waffles with cut fruit on top - she gets a kick out of watching them "pop" from the toaster and is amused by putting fruit in the little sections of the waffle.

Our breakfast look a lot like the ones mentioned above. My son and I are also a lot like you, we're not really big breakfast people. He usually likes to have pancakes or waffles ( tons of really awesome healthy options these days), fruit, yogurt, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, muffins ( there's a brand called garden lites that makes little mini muffins that have lots of veggies hidden in them. My son loves them he thinks it's such a treat. I also sometimes make a batch of mini apple muffins or pumpkin muffins and freeze those). If my husband is doing breakfast it's usually just a bowl of Cheerios with some milk and some cut up fruit on the side. He's a lot less creative but it's definitely one of my sons favorite breakfast so I go with it.

ETA: when I say he's not a breakfast person what I mean is that he likes all of those things above but he usually doesn't eat a lot of it. Breakfast is probably the meal where he's most likely to leave a lot of food behind. I think it's because he just woke up and he has energy and he really just wants to get back to playing. And I often don't have the time to let him sit there for an hour because we need to get to school.

I just came across this recipe and I'm going to try to make them sometime this week. But instead of just making one serving I'll make a big batch and freeze them. Probably more like silver dollar sized pancakes than full size.

@nugget16 my son is about to turn 2, also has reflux (very severe as a baby) and had MSPI and still has some dairy intolerance/sensitivity. He is also ULTRA PICKY and not a great eater.

He goes through phases where it's the same thing every morning, then it's something else. Recent favorites:
- Nutrigrain or similar bar
- frozen toaster waffles (I buy the Nutrigrain kind or whole wheat) with a little earth balance spread or just plain
- recently, a little cup of Cheerios with milk. He eats about half with a spoon and half with his hands.
- occasionally oatmeal if it is sweet and has cinnamon. I make it really thick then let it cool so it's gloopy and easy for him to grab.
- fruit/applesauce always, of course

He will not eat eggs or breakfast meat. He likes lunch meat so I usually get some low sodium turkey or whatever and he eats a little of that. And lactose free milk.

Regular toast with butter (My DS was MSPI and I still have some non dairy butter lying around that I put on their toast even though he outgrew his MSPI)

Fruit - Strawberries, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Blackberries, Peaches, Pears, Bananna, Plum, ...

Chicken Sausage - I have bought the apple maple breakfast links from Al Fresco and LOs love them. Best part for me is I just nuke them for 15 seconds and we are good!

My son is a little picky and loves these banana oat pancakes- they're super sweet so he thinks they're a treat. I add flax, chia seeds and sometimes almond butter. The flax and chia would offset constipation for sure lol. They freeze well. SUPER EASY http://www.thewholesomefork.com/2015/09/19/banana-oatmeal-protein-pancakes-gluten-free/
No dairy!
Keep in mind most cereals are super processed, stripped-down carbs with quite a bit of sugar. That's why we love them so much ;-)

My boys like waffles, the Earth's Best breakfast bars (basically small nutrigrain bars), cubes of homemade banana bread, Belvita biscuits, raisins, Raisin Bran cereal, Life cereal, and smoothies. Baby just eats dry cereal with a cup of milk. Neither like oatmeal but they will eat pouches that have oatmeal mixed with fruit purees. They also like pieces of Canadian bacon.

My boys do like eggs and yogurt however.

@nugget16: oh then maybe ignore my dairy suggestions! What about toast or little bagels with some kind of spread? I had some disasters trying to make LO some ultra healthy muffins and banana bread, but maybe someone will have a good suggestion of a recipe! ;) I also had to limit bananas and applesauce for my LO around that age for constipation, but they were always favorites!

@jhd: thanks! I probably should've added a disclaimer that my daughter was labeled a happy spitter from birth until about 10 months. While it is very rare that she has any kind of spitting up episodes yogurt seems to be a trigger for that. We've also noticed that oatmeal seems to do the same thing. She loves bananas with peanut butter however bananas give her constipation very easily. I have to limit how often I give her those. I don't usually eat traditional breakfast foods but feel like I need to set a good example for my daughter and offer her healthy options. For me, I usually eat some crackers with peanut butter for breakfast 😋

We did a lot of yogurt, fruit, and toaster waffles around that age. Those are still some of LO's faves at 3 in addition to pancakes and turkey sausage. He also likes muffins and turkey bacon (although that might be harder for a young toddler to eat). We also offer things like cheese or veggies although these are not traditional breakfast foods.

My daughter isn't a huge fan of breakfast (like me!) She loves pancakes and French toast (without Syrup)and turkey sausage. She also likes any kind of fruit. However she's not crazy about eggs or oatmeal. I would love to keep expanding her pallet but I'm running out of ideas. Cream of wheat was not high on her list either! Would love to hear some ideas of things that you offer your one-year-old for breakfast! Thanks!
