@bubblegum: This is what we did when DS turned two this fall! We had fruit, pastries, bagels, lox, cream cheese, a frittata, coffee, bloody marys, mimosas, and for the kids - home made funfetti pancakes! DS had a candle in his. :)

If you have a waffle maker, I did this for a brunch birthday party last month - make waffle batter, but instead of doing a full waffle make a lot of teeny ones, about a tsp of batter each, and then top each one with a piece of bacon - I used Minion toothpicks for a Minion themed party. They were a big hit.

@gingerbebe: I like it! I am having a donut "cake" I'm sooooo excited about because it's from one of the best bakeries in town. I'm thinking about putting the coffee in my glass drinker dispenser so that I have a lot ready to go!

@Adira: @AB810: Thank you ladies!!

@Mamaof2: I'm having a donut cake tower!! I'm AMPED!

@FaithFertility: For the egg cups, do you think I should do a mini or regular size muffin?

@Becky: That actually sounds like a fun activity for the kids to do too!

Yogurt parfaits! That way you have something the kids will definitely eat (yogurt and fruit), with very little clean up and zero cooking. We usually do 2 flavors (Greek vanilla and strawberry), fresh fruit (usually just berries), granola, maybe nuts, coconut, and some mini chocolate chips depending on the crowd. Everyone makes their own in plastic cocktail cups or mini mason jars. I’ve done it at a bday party and a few baby showers. You could do bagels or muffins too.

I'm planning a breakfast party for my DD's party this year. That pioneer women french toast is so good, I make it every Christmas and will for the party. I will also be making some quiche, fruit salad, and buy a bunch of donuts.

Mini-Waffles
Sausage Links

I'd do a big breakfast casserole with eggs and all the breakfasty stuff in it - there's a lot of recipes online for breakfast casseroles done in the crockpot and some people just like a heartier breakfast.

Then I'd do storebought pastries. Kroger or most nicer grocery stores do a kringle-danish-coffee cake thing that is always really good and people enjoy them. Mini muffins of different kinds for kids. Or you can make a tower of mini donuts, throw on some sprinkles, and call it the "birthday cake."

Fruit salad. Can be assembled the night before.

Some means of having a lot of coffee at once.

Juice boxes for the kids. Orange juice (and champers?) for adults.

@snowjewelz: Waffles!! YUM!

@LBee: That looks super good! Thank you!

@looch: Agreed! I'm thinking of making pastries the night before to limit stress in the morning.

Bagels
Quiche
fruit salad

I would try to limit what I made at the time of the party, like making waffles to order. I might make them ahead and reheat them on a sheet pan in the oven, but IMO those things are best right off the grill.

Overnight french toast casserole -- it's incredibly easy and I make it at least 3 times a year. I always get rave reviews:

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/cinnamon-baked-french-toast/

Bacon
Sausage, Egg, Cheese Casserole

Waffles (put out whipped cream and fruits for toppings)
Pancakes (put out syrup/butter and toppings)
Fruit salad or kebabs
Maybe just two trays, one with bacon/sausage, one with scrambled eggs to make it easy
Then juices/coffee

If you want to go fancy you can do a make your own yogurt parfait/acai bowl or whatever else bar, or do a crockpot of oatmeal with toppings?

Rather than have a full out birthday party for DD, I'm going to have a small breakfast.

What would to expect to see? I'm not sure if I should have eggs because people are sometimes weird about their eggs and if I do, what style?

Any must haves? Extra points for easy recipes!

TIA!
